The graphics as mentioned are very distracting to me but I can imagine the car in all black from this picture, which Isn’t usually my thing but I can see it looking pretty awesome like that.

Everything about the new model is more aggressive looking than before. The GT3 looks awesome.
Those bitching about the huge grills need to look again at the photos with drivers/people standing next to the front of the car. Overall, the height of the front of the cars does not appear as tall as earlier models and the grill is just not as huge as its being made out to be. Yeah, bigger than some might like but much less bulbous than many current BMW grills. I think we are going to need to see it 3 dimensionally to actually realize the proportions. |

Simple and clean design for the new g80/82. Compared tothe alfa gtam and the likes this is byfar the least overdesigned far- east lookin performance vehicle u can get today in its class. Love the big switch bmw. Keep it up.

Overall I think it looks great, especially the rear, very aggressive. The grills are not as bad as most people make them to me, as long as you don't run a plate. With a bigger front lip the grills will look even better.
I am most disappointed in the hood. The lack of a power dome or any kind of functional venting and the charger-like indentations are the biggest let down imo.

Man the criticisms of the grilles are less and less creative as these threads continue.

I've tried extracting distinct body lines of the front end from these images, distilling it down just to the core designs elements and removing the noise. It doesn't illustrate shading (curves) of the car which would somewhat help the design but giving my 2 cents, this is one busy front end. All the flourishes surrounding the grill is especially busy (center indentation around the roundel, hood detail, bottom lip thingy. The hood shut line doesn't help it much; instead of one smooth curve across the hood (f82), you get these folds going up and down several times. For the lower intake areas bisected by the grill, they seem quite insignificant. I do like how the cheek line is higher up, closer to the headlights, but wish there was less body panel and more intake between the cheek line and bottom lip.

To be fair to BMW its growing on me. They are saying full of race car technology. So what I think what I will do is drive 718 GT4, 911 GT3, and 911 Turbo right before driving the M4. If I am still impressed, it may just become my daily.
Grills are going to be awesome for making score marks on my steak or zucchini. |

Everyone else takes notes. THAT is how to make a "grille joke" 14 months into this sh*t show.

Keep in mind that these are MotoGP safety cars, which are always heavily modified.
For the unfamiliar, MotoGP is world championship motorcycle roadracing. Think Formula 1 on two wheels, with million dollar bikes and the best riders in the world. Safety cars are used by sanctioning officials to do hot laps for track inspection. They also follow the bikes through the first lap at race start, with a trauma physician and advanced life support onboard. Motorcycle road racing doesn't use actual pace cars (with the exception of a few disastrous years when the NASCAR Daytona Motor Group ran USA motorcycle road racing and tried to make it understandable to the pork rinds, chewing tobacco & PBR crowd). https://www.boxrepsol.com/en/motogp-...st-a-safe-car/ |
