Yes, you can bring a different person later. Initially, i had my wife's name in the request and she was not able to make it. Closer to delivery, i reached out to PC team to check if i can bring my friend along and they were fine with it. They didnt ask me to fill out additional paperwork for the change.

Just submitted paperwork for PCD along with some potential dates.

2/15
3/1
3/6

My wife isn't too happy about that 2/15 date damn valentines day...

Week 46 build so let's hope things don't get too delayed.

PC would reach out to your dealer to confirm the date only affer the vehicle lands in US and the work order is closed by VPC. It might be too early for your dealer to ask you for potential dates.

Also in the recent past, they would only give the first available option and not ask for three preferred options like how things were before 2021.

The form for PCD requested potential dates so I gave them some. I went in to the dealer and we filled the form out together. Figured it's a starting point since those dates aren't garranteed.

Did u have to fill out a form? My CA just did the paperwork and confirmed with me. Usually they give u 3 dates but now, they only give u one. They usually contact your CA when the car is at VPC and give u the date and you have the option to accept or request a new date which may not be accepted.

It's an online form. I'm sure he could have done it on my behalf, but I preferred to go into the dealer and fill it out myself. On the form there's a section for preferred dates, and the recommendation was to provide 3 dates 8-12 weeks out from the build week, understanding that these dates aren't garranteed and that the will contact the CA once the car is at VPC to get down a more concrete date.

Once PCD paperwork is submitted... do you get any acknowledgement that they've received the request? Or will they just get in touch once the car is here? I get nervous about things like - what if it wasn't submitted properly... did they even get it... etc.

I didn't receive any confirmation when the initial request was submitted, not sure if the dealer receives anything. Once your work order is closed in VPC, PC team would reach out to your dealer with the date. Then your dealer would confirm if that works for you. Also they stopped giving 3 day options a while back.

If you ask your CA to look at your VIR in their system, the PCD should be listed as Alt delivery location and the port is usually Brunswick. Thats way its confirmed in the BMW system

Awesome... I'll give it a few days and maybe end next week I'll ask for an updated VIR just to confirm.

When is your build date ? Are you in status 150 yet? I think it may not register once its in status 150 but its worth a shot asking ur CA to just look at his system

All PCD vehicles go through Charleston.

PCD can be requested as soon as production number is available. I dont think its associated with the build status.

I'm still in status 111... build week 46. So I've got a while to go. I just like getting all my ducks in a row when it comes to this stuff so there's no hiccups later on.

Im doing PCD and my port of entry is SSIPOA which is Brunswick !!! I requested PCD when I got my allocation and had looked at my VIR at status 112 and didnt see the alternate location listed as PCD. Then at status 150, my CA sent me an updated VIR and it showed PCD as an alternate location. You are correct that you can request PCD when you get ur allocation, but Im not sure, it will show up as an alternate location in the VIR until status 150. Maybe my VIR was printed too early in status 112 that it didnt show PCD but at status 150, you should see it and if its not, then someone dropped the ball and its not in the BMW system

Just received a call from my CA this morning to schedule PCD. The date they gave me was 10/18. No other options. My car has been at Brunswick port for over a week now according to the app.

Timing wise, most of the other Atlanta folks that were on the same ship will have received their cars a month before I pick up mine. Not ideal but I’m looking forward to the PC experience and I don’t desperately need a car right now. The stars may never align again so I will wait.

I don’t see the point of the dealer trying to book dates months out. The have no idea when your car will arrive (no matter what they say) based on the port and shipping issues we’re seeing right now.

Just sharing my experience as it’s still ongoing and very current.

Congrats !!! Just out of curiosity, what build week were you? And was Brunswick your first port or entry or was it charleston?

I did PCD in May and my port of entry was Charleston and that has been the case in the past years as well. Not sure if they have changed it in the recent past due to current logistic issues.

I think so. It would have made more sense to go to Charleston but maybe with the current issues, Brunswick is seeing a lot of traffic. There was some in FL going to NYC and then being sent my train to FL. Its a logistic nightmare !!!

So if you can't make 10/18 work you're SOL? Or you tell them you can't make it and they send an alternate date?

In my case the dealer never asked me for potential dates. We filled out the form requesting PCD together and on the form there was a field requesting date preferences. Whether that means anything or not I guess we'll see.

If you cannot make it to the original date, then your dealer can request for a future date.

BW 31 and Brunswick was the port. The ship didn’t stop at Charleston. The car sat at Bremerhaven for almost 4 weeks and then was moved to Zeebrugge. From there it got on Brooklands which went straight to Baltimore then Brunswick.

Charleston is probably their preferred PCD port but everything is a mess right now so they’re probably being flexible.
