I remember hearing your car make noise, when you did that turn around in the parking garage, at the meet. I forgot I was going to say something. We got too excited from doing launch controls in my car, I forgot all about it.

Don’t slide it. Just unclip it and remove it, then put it on. There is a small amount of glue holding it on but it was no issue.

I actually lowered the whole assembly because the strut boot was crooked. I always make more work for myself. Before that though I just jacked the car up and adjusted with the wheel on.

Does it unclip by hand or did you need to pry it off with a pry tool/screwdriver?

Glad to report that after adjusting the insulators about 3/4 of a coil down I’m not having any issues. I’ll continue to monitor.

I haven’t received the new isolators but there is no real rush.

Nice! I haven’t heard anything yet, but I’ll give that a shot. Can you send photos of what it’s looks like post relocation?

Good Morning,

Emails are starting to go out regarding the fix and isolator replacement. If you have not been emailed, shoot an email over to support@motonsuspensionusa.com with the subject "Isolator Fix" to receive the further instructions.

Excited to get things cleared up and get everyone back to 100%

Hi Sean, we already have an email exchange going but I haven't seen a new reply yet... should I wait or create a new email thread with the "Isolator Fix" subject?

If anyone is still waiting for an email, etc, and has the squeak…go ahead and move the isolator. Super easy and has still proven to be the fix for me.

Pardon me being far from handy... does this "string" instruction for proper location mean i just simply let it hang down that far with gravity, or do I follow the coil around with the string to find the location?

How did you access the spring? Does this require a lift? Yuck, dont want to do.

You have to follow the spring around. I tried that, but just ended up making mine look like the photo I posted above which was about a half a coil lower than mine were.

Just jack up the wheel, unclip the isolator, move it, clip it, done. Really easy.

Are you confident it will stay in correct place moving forward?

I don’t see why not. The new isolators they are sending out are no different.

I guess there is a little bit of glue on them from the factory but they are sturdy and don’t slide even without it. For them to move they really they need to be unclipped.

Quick bump and more detail.

I received an updated email yesterday and rather than referencing the picture, I used a home speaker wire to use to help measure the estimated location.

From the top of the spring (which is easy if springs are off the car) is 28.875".
From the bottom of the spring (which is easy if springs are currently installed) is 40.25".

I cut my speaker wire 40.25", jacked up the car, used the speaker wire to measure around the coils from the bottom, and then placed the isolator there.

So far so good. This ended up being a bit lower than I had originally adjusted to based on eyeballing the photo.

Oh...also used some goo-gone to remove the glue from the spring where the isolator was removed from.

Just DM me your email address and I'll look it up or send a new email, sometimes these move into spam.

I want to get you solved!

They will not move once placed correctly, they were placed incorrectly from the factory and act as an isolator for when the coils touch, which isn't all the time.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Customers, and shops alike have done this fix on jacks, be safe!

I also have completed the fix with jacks and a lift with and without the wheel removed, we were trying to test ease of the fix and I believe this can be done by 99% of our customers.

The string/wire instructions was a simplified way we found to help everyone measure. The more engineered instructions HQ sent over complicated it.
