OK, so I have a stupid question, don't flame me I'm not a car mechanic. My 24 M3 has the same connectors as pictured here (posted on page 2 I think).

How do I unplug the connector? What do I press?

Initial driving impression is that I gives a nice improvement in sound and volume when you get on it, but is very tame when you're driving normally. Exactly what I wanted. You hear the turbos spooling much more and get some nice burbles when you lift the throttle.

The reason why I needed the zip ties is because I figured out a way to install it so that it is essentially no lower than the factory plug was before. I just unsnapped the 11Mode female plug from the male plug and then snapped the 11mode "C" bracket to the factory female plug. The "C" bracket was where the blue zip tie is as shipped from 11Mode.

You have any more pics of your install? I really like the idea of being able to mount this higher up, especially with a lowered car, and think I know what you did but more pics would be great if you have them. Thanks.

I just have the one that I posted. And I don't have a pic of the 11Mode connector before installing it, but you basically just separate the two 11Mode plugs (the female plug is snapped to the male plug with an elongated C bracket) and slide the the female plug onto the factory female plug. It holds OK, but I added the zip tie for safety.

Here's the pic again where I highlight the 11Mode female plug, and the "C" bracket it has is the red lines. I snapped it to the BMW factory female plug which I outlined in green ( the 11Mode female plug is on the blue outlined male plug as shipped from 11Mode). The rest is just routing the cables for the male plugs. The blue outline is the 11Mode male end plugged into the factory female plug. I hope that makes sense.



Edit: nothing is destructive in this method and you can always revert back to the 11Mode factory configuration.

today I installed the units onto my son's new m3. they were on our m2 before and I noticed the clip was not holding very well... and as Hokie mentioned above, I too used a zip tie but I did not re configure anything or change the height. maybe his method is better but just to be sure it's on there and not coming off I used a zip tie around the part just above where it plugs in and it fit nicely there. I'll take a pic tomorrow for you guys. might be worth doing my method if you don't want to re configuring anything while adding a little safety, just another option. I might go back and add them to my m3 tomorrow too.

I’ll get a better shot tomorrow in daylight but here it is . Btw, I’ve had these on our m2 and m3 for 20k miles each and no issues at all. That’s 40k worth n miami heat and rain etc. Both work fine still
