Can you confirm you'll be able to remote code this for me?

My paddleshifterz order is stuck in customs due to incorrect part description. Filled out the HS7 and noted steering wheel/trim so not clear what the issue is. Anyone know how this works? Hate to see it returned...

What type of shipping did you choose? FedEx or DHL?

I recall selecting DHL because of price but they shipped via FedEx

if it's fedex, call the trade network # +1 800-249-2953 , ask for the direct contact info for the agent assigned to your shipment, then contact the agent directly to figure out what is missing/needed.

if it's dhl im not sure but should be a similar process, the also have a dedicated # for customs clearance that you need to find, in either case if you call the main customer service line they are generally useless.

I'm trying to fill out the HS-7 form but have never filled one out before and not familiar with these terms, port of entry, registered importer name etc? Do i ask paddleshifterz to fill this out?

EDIT: Paddleshifterz assisted and FedEx agent will review and assist as needed. TY!

you can fill it out, much of it can be left blank and isn't relevant as you aren't importing a vehicle. fill out description, check box 2a, fill out your info as the importer and declarant and sign. that should be pretty much it.

also if you communicate with your assigned agent like i recommended above, you can ask them to validate your documents. you might as well, because whether you communicate with them directly or not, fedex is going to be billing you for the agent service.

Connected with Szab today also, guy is responsive and ships fast! Amazing - I'll be getting this from Germany before other local vendors even respond to my email for an eta. I think Chris is referring to the trade network agent at FedEx.

it depends on the declared value and how much extra stuff, if any, they have to do to clear it. I think i paid something like $25 total in import fees when i got my wheel with declared value ~900. it shouldn't be much.

Has anyone successfully retrofitted the Alcantara LCI steering wheel to a pre-LCI car with DAP? I have all the necessary parts, but I can’t get it to work. I’ve double-checked all the wiring and components multiple times. The BDC keeps reporting an issue with the HOD sensor and isn’t receiving any signal from it. Any insights or solutions would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: I checked the configurator on the German website and DAP will remove the Alcantara steering wheel for some reason.

it's the same in the USA, DAP cannot be ordered with alcantara.

if option 70A is added to the VO, on LCI car there is 1 change in the car's coding, not sure if this will make any difference but you can try it -

Hey guys I'm completely new to this, I just got a 2024 G80 M3. Looking to swap my steering wheel for the new LCI one. I have carbon fibre trim and heating with no ACC. What would be the part number I'd be looking for?

Sorry for being so noob lol.

can't do heat on ID7 without also retrofitting a button.

Refer to the buyers guide above for detail but it’s basically:

Wheel
Front Trim
Top cover
Lower vibration motor cover
Vibration motor
Wire assembly

Reuse/Transfer:

Left/Right button clusters
M1/M2 buttons
Horn plate
Airbag

This was my experience for non-heated, non-DAP equipped.

I was surprised my original wheel had vibro motor since I don’t have DAP and have never felt it do anything.

Anyone know if the MT steering wheels use the same p#’s as the auto wheels? I see on my steering wheel there’s no where to install paddles. Wasn’t sure if the lci wheels came with covers where th paddles would go?

Wheels are the same and covers are a separate item. Your paddle covers should transfer over but don't know for sure.

Any thoughts on this? Is this comparable with the OEM LCI wheel with less headaches and no coding required?
AliExpress is full of replica LCI wheels - looks like it is the same manufacturer with multiple vendors, example: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/32568...Cquery_from%3A

All these replica wheels may require a new servo, cover and custom (longer) harness (if OEM equipped), and a new main harness chassis (the plastic frame where the wheel harness is attached to), everything else can be transferred from OEM wheel to this, without the need of coding. Some vendors include everything required, some vendors do not - you have to ask before ordering.

Mine came with the servo cover, but no servo and no chassis.

Any updates on getting the heat working?! I have a 2024 G80C xDrive and would love to have either a leather or Alcantara flat bottom. I have both drivers assistance and heat on my OEM and would like to retain both.
