Just got window tints done on the car. XPEL XR PLUS Ceramic tint 70% windshield and 20% all around for the rest of the car. I am noticing the auto-dimming mirror feature has gone awry.
I notice the drivers side - side mirror dimming and then the rear view mirror dimming as well during the afternoon! This was not the case prior to window tinting... Any insight? Has anyone else experienced this ? Could it be due to tinting technique? Help please. Ty. |

I went with ceramic 3M (Crystaline) a while back. 35% all around, nothing on windshield. Quality tint, and I’m sure it’s protected the interior over the last almost 2 years. But I will say, I would not go with 3M again, due to its color. Their top of the line stuff has a bronze/brown hue to it. I know it’s all part of the ceramic, but have never been a big fan of the look. Hard to capture in pictures, just a heads up to any tint-shoppers out there.

I have tried multiple different brands of tint. Along with 35%, 20% and 15%.
My favorite is Xpel prime xr plus it blocks the sun heat like no other tint has done. 15% is the perfect vlt for me. |

That seems really high. I could see $700 for all that give or take depending on what area you’re in but definitely not $1300 for that. I’d do some shopping around.

I got mine installed $675 for all windows and $250 for windshield. My tint is Ceramic Pro IR film but I doubt XPEL is THAT much more expensive for the windshield...
