Not sure geo location has anything to do with the rollout of the update. NJ also and I went from 07/2021.50 to 07/2022.58. I wonder if the trans changes (if any) were actually in 11/2021 release and those got just now pushed to me along with the new release? I can't seem to find the release notes for 11/2021. Anyone else have them?

Exhaust burbles are definitely toned down. They don't crackle and pop as they did before on deceleration, specially on lower gears or speed. I am not sure about top end of heavy load, but its overall quiet now. The ASD button seems to "work" now, where as before it didn't really make a difference. I am bummed about the pops and burbles being muted, that was one of my favorites.
Shifting has improved and I can agree on the manual mode and responsiveness. Before I had to shift before I wanted to in order to reach the desired shift point, definitely a lag which cost me a few redlines. Now, it will shift right when you hit up in manual mode (logic 3). |

I’ve had a Remus catback exhaust with the valves fully open 100% of the time since April of last year…I guess I’m missing out on all this discovery of new burbles and pops. Although I’ve had a ton more burbles and pops over factory since April so I don’t think I’ve missed much with the update.

Alright, so I just got back from a good rip after the update. I live out in the country, so plenty of space to send it…
Immediately pulling out of my driveway on an empty country road, WOT from a roll in 1st, BIG difference. Most noticeable was the 1-2 and 2-3 shift. Much quicker at the upper range, along with some welcomed shift farts. My biggest complaint with this auto has always been the exaggerated delay while manually shifting near redline, that’s gone. Also, downshifts feel smoother and WOT shifts, while definitely quicker, have a little more bang. Really liking it. Before this drive, and before updated, I did the same sprint with the same settings (MDM and trans in S3). Night and day difference. This was realized in the first couple hundred feet. For context, my G80 Comp is a ‘21. The latest software it had was 07/21. Parts related to the engine are a Supersprint single resonated mid pipe and Armaspeed intake. The car just feels so different, and definitely more fun to drive. |

I almost forgot!…
Start up roar is different. Much more aggressive, and not just after running into the store really quick and the engine still in sport+. It’s now doing that aggressive start up even after sitting for a longer time. Never had this before. |

I may just be special but I downloaded the software, connected to my car (while engine off and on) and it was just uploading for an eternity.
What’s the correct way to do this? The software is downloaded in my BMW app. It connects fine. How long should upload take? Engine on or off? I had it on for about 30-45 mins with about a 20 min drive in there. Still just uploading. I didn’t have anymore time to mess w it this morning so I had to pull my phone out and move on. Will give it another whirl later. Any advice? Thanks all. Picture, just because. |

Updated yesterday. Completely stock 6MT…the car is quieter without a doubt. I re-set M1/M2 buttons the way they were before, and now the difference when switching to M1 from normal mode is much more subtle.

Me too, no updates for me yet either. I'm going in for a state inspection and oil change and my friend at dealership will push mine through.

Probably my third report on this update, and I’m trying my best to suppress any over-dramatization. It’s good, really good. To the point where I’m stunned just an OTA could transform the car this much. I’ve put about 100 miles on the car since the new update, and they’re not easy miles.
Quick rundown on the definite things I’ve picked up on; - No more clunkiness with 1-2 shifts in S3. Smooth and fast, with enough umph to make it feel special. - Very nice deep pop between shifts, sport+ in either D or S. I do have a single midpipe. - Start up roar. It’s much more aggressive and sounds killer. - I’m now finding myself driving more in D3 than S3. Car seems wittier on when to shift and let revs hang. - Burbles are toned down a bit, but sound much deeper and grown up, if that makes sense. - ALL shifts, either 1/2 throttle or WOT are noticeably quicker, especially at/near redline. I did a run from a stand still… D3, MDM, somewhat warm tires, no LC, and I was literally lol’ing as she climbed through the gears. This update seems very engine/transmission focused, yet none of that language was in the description. Either way, it’s a blast driving. Everything just feels so different and new, more peppy, more DCT-like. For context, I have put about 17k miles on my G80. It’s one of the first cars in my state, and I’ve put it through the ringer. So, lots of seat time on the old software. A few things I’ve been complaining about have been resolved. My G80 does have an Armaspeed intake and Supersprint mid pipe, no other engine work or tunes. A light bulb went off in my head when a buddy who just bought a ‘23 M4C told me the car shifts great and feels incredible. Sure enough, he’s already on this software, or maybe even newer. Anyways, I’m a broken record at this point. Lots of other stuff listed in the update, but no idea what those are… don’t really care. |

Installed, not enough miles and snowy out today so unable to push it.
One minor thing...after the update the auto start/stop was re-enabled (no big deal, system rebooted to original settings it seems) so I disabled it and about halfway through a quick drive it had re-enabled itself again? Maybe it had to perform another reboot of sorts to finalize the update? Not a big deal at all, just want to make sure I'm not losing my faculties. Anyone else notice this behavior? It has now since stayed off... |
