I had the same quandary and also spent way too much time going through all the blues. Looking forward to seeing yours!

You have to like the look of your own car, i couldn't care less what other people think.

Pick the colour you like (imo)
True. Not a fan of the color but this is a silly reason to hate on it!

Imagine being so insecure that things like that matter to you? Its a color, for a car. The M3 shares lots of things with non-Ms. now more than ever.
I see your point on the colors (even though PB does nothing for me). However, I think they differentiated the base 3 series from the M3 more than ever (especially aesthetically). For the first time, even the uninformed car novice will not confuse a 330i with an M3!

That is in no way a representation of what the color actually looks like. The greatest illusion mankind ever created was the dealership fluorescent lights lol.

My favorite blue right now is probably the shark blue on the new GT3.

I get compliments on my CS in SMB all the time, you'll love the G80 in SMB. Can't wait to see it.

The only ones that weren't were the grey Grand Cherokee I bought off my dad and a silver Civic I had to get because they didn't make white that year. I had never had a car as nice as the M4. I had worked hard and was doing well enough to afford one. It was a special car to me. I decided that if I was going to get that nice of a car that I was going to get one of the M specific colors and YMB it was. I loved the color, it got a ton of compliments (even from the guy in the $400k Aventador that stopped and got out specifically to talk to me about it) and in 4 years I think I maybe saw 4 other YMB cars.

So, I strongly considered PB. While it's a beautiful color I loved having the very unique YMB. PB is very similar to Estoril that has been around for years and thus it seemed a little more mundane me. So for those reasons I decided to spend the extra to get the custom color this time around.
You and I have been on a similar path with our color choices and obviously we both went individual colors. In Ohio, you'll have a very exclusive color. I miss my YMB F80 so bad, but I actually see at least one in NYC daily lol. Not a day goes by I don't see a YMB and usually a sakhir orange lol.

The lighter colors really make the lower black body kit stick out much more. Not sure I like it. Would love to see how the car looks with everything painted to match the body.

Yes indeed. "Nice" cars are much more rare here. I think most people here just view their cars as a method of transportation and not much more, hence the lack of car and color excitement around here. When is yours being built? I'm sure it's in one of your posts, but I forget. I'm week 13 (March 21st) but am sure hoping for earlier.

I initially also thought about SMB but I just can't justify 7'200 CHF for a color...it's way to expensive imo...
At this point I prefer Portimao Blue or even Tanzanite.
Altough there are ton's of F8X in SMB. (if someone cares about exclusivty, just saying)

BUT
I'm damn sure it will look sick in SMB ! beautiful colour !

Almost as good as gas station lights at night. YMB never looked better than under those.

I couldn't agree with you more. I would look back at my YMB 3-4 times at night when going into the store at my local gas station for a quest bar and maybe some skittles.

It would be interesting to see the difference but IMO these cars already look massive, without the black it would look even more huge

Here it is fully painted, with painted side markers and tints. I love the blue and don't give a shit if it's not unique to M-cars. This is most likely the configuration I'll be doing... also imagine it with a ski rack in the winter and covered in snow, that'll really get the purists pissed off

Same!! I thought about all colors. Dealership advised me to go for dravit or partimao for M3. I don’t know!
