Yeah, as good as they look I would want some seat time before ordering them.

The CF buckets are undoubtedly beautiful and a nice option to have for the G8x gen.
My biggest hesitation would be the potential for extreme wear on those lateral thigh bolsters. Not necessarily wear from myself, but from other folks getting in/out of the car. Like others have mentioned, that would totally kill my experience with them.

I'm plenty in shape. I just don't want the hassle. Comfort over form in this case.

You need to sit in the seats before deciding. I would be considered to be in the demographic "old and not limber", and my wife has mobility problems. It would be obvious that we would want regular seats. Wrong. I also have very long legs and the thinner seat back of the CF seats gave me more room. I had no problems getting in or out, and I could almost straighten my legs while driving. My wife has problems getting in and out of any car seat, but the rigid seat cushion side gave her a spot to press down with her hands when getting in or out. It was much easier for her. I think that our opinion would have been different if we were "wider".

....but most here are assuming the seats aren't comfortable simply because of the description (...and having no real world experience with them). They may very well be comfortable for extended duration drives.

My wife is a complete energizer bunny and since this is going to be her daily the CF buckets are a must. That extra 2-3 minutes to uncork the rear from them will give her a chance to take some well earned breaths before rushing to the next meeting etc

Haven't sat in the carbon bucket seat (that should happen any day now), however the base seat is plenty comfortable and offers plenty of support. Definitely a great seat for a daily driver +.

My f80 paddles may not be something special like a Ferrari, but they're placed well, good size and feel good. New base paddles are unacceptable for a driver's car like this. Carbon paddles honestly felt very cheap in person and weirdly placed far inwards. Who even makes these decisions, and based on what? Can you tell I'm annoyed. It's annoying to have to already plan on aftermarket paddles for either base or carbon replacement. |

Oh, I believe they are likely comfortable once you get in to them. Maybe if that side bolster lowered for getting in an out. Although I'll still out the money towards the individual paint over the seats.

This is like saying that all other seats or even previous M vehicles have no support whatsoever when that is sir -pure and simple- a lie. All those people that own an M in here are pretty much satisfied with those seats. And I strongly believe that BMW seats are one of the best out there, especialy on lateral support. And I own and owned many vehicles. Yeah, I get that the new CF seats are very “woo” for some and can be better in certain -rare- circumstances, yet, I personally I found them way less confortable and a pain to leave with them on a daily vehicle. And I used that new M for a day only. Or my BMW’s -at least for me-, are all every day vehicles. And by the way, some are not “grocery getters” as I forbid all kind of groceries in my toy for example. I am a spririted driver all the time and anytime the circumstances permit and the M regular seats are the best blend for luxury, comfort, sportiveness and support. I even raced my vehicles and those seats where ultra enough. So, yeah, forgive me for taking your comparo with a big grain of salt as that is just not true. So for me the regular M seat is just the perfect blend for what the vehicle is : a daily sport luxury sedan and not a kidney breaking kart... |

Having visited a local dealer and tried out the M Sport seats, I'm happy I went with them in my build. They're far more supportive than most will ever need unless you're on a track and are wildly comfortable at the same time
I would argue that unless you're going to track your car regularly, which the majority of buyers likely won't, the regular sport seats are more than enough for "spirited driving". My frozen dark grey G80 Comp is scheduled for pickup April 14, and has the sport seats. Can't wait. |

You can install the new G80 paddles on all G series wheels. I have them on my G01 M40i and they feel much better and longer than the normal paddles.

I actually just remembered one of the accounts ran by a shop got some of the seats in a while back. Might have to search a while for the account/post but they might be able to help with fitment etc if you come across it.

I dont think so. You maybe did a fun trackday but you certainly didnt race anything. For one thing you cant fit a harness to the oem seat & you aren't competing anywhere in anything without a harness etc.
