Anybody notice the dark stripes on the rear bumper of both models? Is this new for 2022 or maybe only on the M xDrive models?

Do you mean the vertical line min the middle between the exhausts? Other than that I can't see a difference?

Yes - the diffuser is split with a line and two darker strips on either side. This appears different than the regular Competition model.

Closer shots show it's just the CF package rear diffuser. The darker strips look to be a reflection of the road. It does stand out in the photos though.

You're confusing Audi Quattro with quattro. Quattro with capital Q is the famous 80s coupe. quattro is the AWD system.

Any F30 340i or G20 M340i owners here? Wonder if M340i vs M340i xDrive is a relevant comparison.

That's awesome! Trying to explore similar - Did they give you a build slot / production number?

I'm aware of that nuance, I just refused to overlook the grammar rule requiring brand names (which are proper nouns) be capitalized in regular writing (as opposed to trademark legal writing, marketing writing, graphic writing i.e. logos/badges...) just for the sake of Audi's caprice Having said that, I will give xDrive more leniency and spell it with a lower case X because it's obviously a made up proper noun (as opposed to quattro) and then it almost already is capitalized anyway

4100 is right at that amount that makes a lot of buyers pounder.
Im not a big badge guy by any means but was glad to see there wasn't an extra xdrive badge on the car. Curious to how others care about that? Would you feel like you would want some extra badge to show you have the awd model?

The marketing ad car photos in brochures and social media have the same plate I think. Maybe photoshopped. I remember the same plate was on a few cars in F8x brochure

They haven't redesigned the GTR car since the Bush Administration. That should upset them irrespective of what BMW is doing.

Amazing engineering. It will surely be great to drive.
But some questions: . With this kind of weight and size, is it not growing into an M5 ? Just look at the dimensions and weight of the past M5s Are you fine with such an evolution ? . Why such a heavy car ? Of course M engineers can do wonders with the chassis, but is this not too much ? Legislators in various European countries are taxing according to power but also weight. And in Motorsports is the objective to have -more- weight when releasing a new race car ? Let alone an M road car ? Are you happy with more weight ? . Design: of course BMW wants to be bold. If this is targeted at another client segment, can they afford the big price increase versus the F80 ? . Price and competition: if you compare it with a BMW Alpina B3 - the M3 is much more costly, no Touring available yet and even if slightly down on power, the B3 has much more torque. And the design is maybe more suited to a crowd who prefers to be more discreet. Would you go for a B3 (of course I available in your local market) ? Thoughts welcome. |
