I wish it was bigger but it is what it is... just enjoying trying out these new and different rides and sharing my thoughts here compared to the M masterclass units.

I dropped off the CS. I had two for a while and no need just a want LOL.

Thank you and its really well put together from the paint quality (my ceramic guy attested to it) to the materials and just the lack of any creaks or noises inside.

The only thing I have a small gripe about is how long it takes to connect my cell via AA (Im sure Carplay is the same)... maybe 20 seconds LOL.

Small issues that I can overcome while the cold start rumbles away.

Strange, I have the same infotainment in my Q7 and CarPlay connects immediately (faster than my M3). Have you tried re-pairing your phone?

So I finally (didnt drive the car much in the last few weeks) did this--- it seems slightly quicker to connect but its still slow compared to my M cars.

The MIB3 MMI in these cars are hit and miss when it comes to connectivity issues (they don't auto update their firmware often enough like BMW does from my experience).

I have a '21 Q7 and wireless CarPlay takes forever for me as well. In comparison, my G80 LCI is nearly connected before my door even closes.

You likely need an update to your MMI. CarPlay has been the one constant that's been a positive experience (from an electronic standpoint) with my Q7. Mine sh!t the bed today and threw up an electrical system malfunction warning...car died and had to be towed to the dealer. Thankfully I'm still within my final month of warranty. Very annoying.

That's what went on mine today. It's the 48v and some relation to the alternator...something like that. The dash lit up like a Christmas tree though so that was fun lol.

I heard a thunk from the back end while driving it (not sure what it was) but immediately I got an Electrical System Malfunction error on the dash. Pulled over and did a restart but the warning triangle of death was still on the dash. Limped home, and the warning tuned to red from orange. My AC system shut off, my ABS stopped working and just as I was pulling into my driveway my steering went and the car shut down completely. Pretty scary actually if that had happened while on a busy road or worse if my wife had been driving with the kids...she would have freaked out.

Got a tow to the dealership. I almost flipped my lid when they said they were out of loaner vehicles and that they could get me into a rental at a DISCOUNT...ummm no not going to happen. This is covered under warranty and they said it would be at least a week. I was about to hulk smashing sh!t when the service manager came out and said they had a brand new Q5 that was scheduled to go into their loaner program next week. They would get it gassed up and let me use it (the new redesign is pretty nice I gotta say!). Anyway, I was on my way. Looking up the issue now on the forums it is likely the alternator but many people have had to get the entire 48v system replaced as well. Once this is fixed I may just part ways with it and move on. It's been very reliable, but out of warranty electrical crap like this is not something I want to deal with on a go forward.
