RS6 is at 270hp/ton and M5c is at 340hp/ton. Another league i would say.
this is gold! thanks

Everyone raving about how “stunning” the rs6 looks but at that price point can’t you almost get an rs7 which seems to easily be the way nicer looking car by a long shot?!

The real question on the performance side, both tuned using same fuel so e35 to e35 or 93 to 93 which one is faster then? G80 being much lighter and on E mix vs pump gas on a much heavier rs7, is no surprise g80 is faster.

Not so sure the RS6 is the only “car” that can take a family skiing.

This is the main reason for ditching my F82 and grabbing a G80. Better Winter driving Fun
I recently took a 1000 mile round trip. I could have taken the M3, but the RS6 is much better in terms of space and luxury, with just as good passing power. Two adults in the back enjoy the RS6 much better. With the heated/cooled rear seats, amazing sound system, large cargo area...the rs6 is a much better trip car.

Trust me I am a big fan of my g80, but the RS6 is the ultimate road trip car....until the M5 touring comes out. Also the weird thing is the RS6 gets more interest/respect than the M3. People are always giving it props, maybe because there more rare and about 40k more, not sure.

Honestly if mods were the same the RS7 is most likely going to be just as fast or faster 60-130 than the M3. 1/4 mile it just doesn’t launch as hard as the M3. It weighs too much and is running 22’ wheels. My RS7 picked up big power with just a tune and intake. More night/day difference than any turbo car I’ve owned. Audi really left a lot on the table. There’s a lot of hate for RS6/RS7 but if I just could have one it wouldn’t be the M3. It’s more spacious, much more comfortable, more tech, sound system is amazing( mine has advanced B&O), looks better, more luxurious, has air suspension which can control height to your exact needs or likes,(mine has CETE module), better AWD for inclement weather, and just as fast in a straight line. The only category the m3 wins is driving dynamics, which is very good. My RS7 is out of its league when it comes to canyon carving, which is where the G80 shines. It’s so fun to drive and with the carbon buckets the experience is next level.

Also I’ve had two F90 comps which I really prefer the RS7 to. It trys to do everything well and is nowhere near the G80 dynamically. Also the tech seems outdated compared to 2023 G80 and the current gen RS6/RS7

Thanks for the writeup, sounds like a hell of a car.

Dynamically I wouldn’t expect an f90 to be as nimble as a g80, but I do think the 4.4 v8 vs i6 3.0 provides a very different driving feel around town. Modded with same fuel, straight line speed of the f90 from launch/rolling 60-130 it should be faster than both g80/rs7. For the size, it’s also handling well and comfortable, and more spacious than g80 and front sofa-style seats are amazing. I agree the tech could be better, but it’s the oldest of the 3 seeing as it came out in 2018.

Did you try f90 comp LCI? I heard it’s a big improvement from the pre lci models.

I really do like the F90 as well. I had a 2019 and 2020 F90. I looked at the LCI as well but didn’t seem too much different than my 2020. The big factors that swayed me to the RS7 was the night vision assist which I use a lot in my area( they stopped offering on LCI M5) and the air suspension. For day to day driving with the family the air suspension is a huge plus, I can drive around lowered and lift it to clear speed bumps at the kids schools and steep inclines and have that slammed look when it’s parked. Plus it’s much more comfortable ride than the F90. But that’s just my needs, many opinions differ. F90 is definitely a better cruiser than the G80. The G80 can be a bit twitchy at higher speeds, and has alot more road noise.

Fair points, indeed everyone is different in their needs as you say. Apparently lci f90 comp which adopted the m8 suspension was said to be much, much more comfortable ride than pre lci comp, more in line with pre lci base m5 while handling much better.

But, compared to an air suspension it’s probably still far more harsh, and as you say no ability to adjust ride height on the fly which is awesome for the rs7. Really surprised that a more “updated” f90 would remove such a vital feature such as night vision, that’s just real odd to me why they would remove that.

Did you ever tune the f90-if so how did the power compare to the other 2 for you?

I had intake and JB4 on one and intake and racechip on the other. It was faster than G80 and RS7 on pump 93. My friend has an F90 full tune, downpipes and ethanol mix and it embarrasses my Huracan. F90 modded are ridiculous. G80 platform can be too when you crack the ECU.

It’s great and all and I love BMW’s, BUT I cannot deal with that grill. I’ve said it at least 100 times - fire the design team. They gave us this nose and then followed it up with the XM. I think they’re corporate spies from VW/Audi b/c that is the only thing that makes sense.

Thanks for sharing! I put my money where my mouth is because it’s the only one available here in the US. Bottom line - I love the car for DD and as a (very fast) family hauler.

Would be even more awesome if the M5 Touring makes it across the pond in 2025!

Tie expected. Not surprised.

10hp = 100 lbs = .1 seconds in 1/4 (generally 10-13 second cars this is very accurate, all else equal)
It is about 470lbs heavier FYI

I’m a BMW guy through and through, but I’ll take the RS6 here.

I try not to leave negative posts and I understand a lot of people, especially younger than me like the G81. No offense, looks are subjective. An RS6 parked next to my M2 CS, and it’s the only car I’ve thought “that car might be better than mine”. Everything else that looks better to me and performs better is less practical, except the RS6 and maybe the M5 CS.
Right there with ya!

with manufacturers commonly quoting dry weights and the magazines claming they weigh the cars, I go with the mag weights until someone puts the car on a scale.

So magazine weight is 4960 pounds. It’s a pig and between 850-900lbs heavier than the g80 m3 wagon which itself is also already a heavy pig to begin with.
