I bought mine on sale but I don't have the ACC. The first time I put them on, I used jb weld for plastic. A piece of wood flew off a truck and took out one of the meshes. This time, I went to Lowe's and got liquid nails and gorilla tape to hold it down. Let's see if something can knock it out now.

Which mesh are you using? The Vorsteiner one?

I made my own titanium mesh. It's not that hard. You can check out how I did it here -

And the mesh is definitely a must. It looks tougher and it provides additional protection

Anyone make a mesh for just the lower for the cheapo gloss black version air scoops on the left/right and maybe center section for an M3? I'd almost prefer some type of plastic so it doesn't chip the paint from rocks, etc.

I put aluminium mesh for the lower part. It looks so weird to have mesh on top part also.

It is barely visible to be honest.

If you are talking about the AggAuto mesh, the material is very flexable and the paint isn't very good quality. It's going to chip and flake off very quickly. There isn't a way to prevent it, just touch it up as it gets damaged.

I returned the ones I bought and just went with a modified BMW lower rock guard for a manual trans G8x.

i guess going with an unpainted silver would solve the chipping too.

i don't have it in me but i think a red or blue mesh would look good.

I tried plastic and couldn’t get it to melt and bend to attach it securely. Used the excess for a diy oil cooler guard.

I ended up going with the cheap aggauto mesh. Works well but will chip. When i pull the bumper off I’m going to strip the old paint, etch the metal and repaint the grills. I’m keeping mine on as they have saved me twice already from road debris. When touched up they’re barely noticeable. I did the entire front end.

Those of you with mesh on your carbon grilles. What did you use to secure the mesh to the carbon grilles?

I recently purchased the Vorsteiner mesh for carbon grille, thinking there would be some "clips" attached to the mesh, which I could use to secure to the grille. However, that was not the case, no "clips", just the mesh itself.

If you want something removable you can use bathroom silicon, jb weld would be more permanent. Haven't done this so test either one on the back of the grill and see how it sticks to the carbon.

Is it sturdy/strong enough to stop a rock or any road debris?
