Just went back from ‘scheduled for production(June 30th)’ to ‘order received status(today)’. I was originally part of week 30, then 34 > 38.
Spoke with BMW genius, and my new build week is 45. Not sure what’s going on ? Scheduled for production status was originally updated on June 30th. But, nothing has progressed after that. Now, back to order received status… Do you think my dealer has allocation or not ? Thanks, TJ |

Wish I had a better answer to give you other than we have not a single goddamn clue what's going on. To say it's frustrating is a massive understatement and I share your pain.
If there was at least something we could hook in (e.g. individual paint, date of order, etc) but it literally feels like the factory is picking and choosing who's going into production at this point. I mean you said you were originally scheduled for production back in June 30th for Week 30 and now you're Week 45? There goes the theory that they're scheduling the older orders first then. Doesn't seen to make any difference what options or colors you have either. You're either lucky enough to move forward or you're not and at worst you'll keep delayed. The dealer does have the allocation but the factory is a mess right now. Global supply chain issues are affecting everyone but the frustrating part is the lack of transparency into these delays or even what's causing them. Best bet so far is it's scheduling related but even that makes no sense since, again, your order is very old and you'd assume you would be one of the ones to go into production any day now and not delayed till week 45. I was originally scheduled for Week 36 and have gotten delayed to Week 37 and am expecting another delay any day now. I've actually reached out (per a BMW Genius recommendation) to my SA to have him talk to an after sales area manager and escalate up to someone at BMW NA who can reach out to the factory and find out something about my order. I'll let you know if I hear anything useful back that may help give more context into these delays. |

Well today I went from build week 39 (as of yesterday) back to 38 (originally week 35) but status still at scheduled for production. I guess I’m encouraged that it moved forward one week but until production starts all this means nothing. Build is G82 BSM Xdrive with exec, park assist and drivers assistance.

Mine is a 2022 Competition xDrive: IOMG over Tartufo (extended not full). Black 826m Wheels with Red Calipers. Executive package, Driving Pro package, Park Assist, Laser Headlights, Ventilated Front Seats, M Shadowline Lights and Carbon Fiber Interior Trim. I thought maybe it was the park assist but that doesn't seem to be it.. I really just think it's a weird scheduling issue on their end |

this thread kinda spells it out.. weeks 35 and 36 have been seeing stop sales. if they are releasing cars to the port with missing pieces, it makes sense to start slowing production/delaying builds to try to stem the backlog of cars sitting at the ports for extended stays for who knows how long. |

lol kinda but I still don't know how long it's going to take.. estimated completion date Sep 28 then gotta wait for however long for a carrier, about 3 weeks on a ship to CA and then assuming no stop sale i'd be lucky to take delivery in November but could be December.
It might also be a lot quicker than that and I could be lucky who knows The thing is (and I hope I don't get hate for this) i'm just so sick of waiting that I may just be looking to return this allocation to them and get that red RS5 now. The dealer took a $2500 "non-refundable" deposit but I never signed anything and I used my CC.. so I don't see how hard it would be to get my money back. They're also the only dealer who took a non-refundable deposit so that seemed kinda sketchy. Every other dealer that did take a deposit took $1000 and said it was 100% refundable. It was also delayed by a few weeks from the original promised date so I coulda always use in my favor. Or am I crazy for even considering doing that? |

Oh so I did have a 2021 M3 competition in the same exact spec (except KO instead of Tartufo and not xDrive) but it was totalled a week after I took delivery (not at fault). So technically I did get to enjoy this beast for at least a while

Just this past year
Been driving my 2013 328xi since 2016. Finally decided to trade it in for a 2020 330xi but after a month felt it wasn't a big enough upgrade so traded that in for a 2020 M340i, and while that was much better the new M3s just started releasing so couldn't resist going all the way and traded my M340 back in March for one and got it in June. That's the one that was destroyed.. and I finally got an allocation for the current 2022 M3 xDrive back at the end of July that was supposed to be for Week 36 and kept getting bumped up. Anyways I've been watching some vids of both the 2021 RS5 and 2022 M3 xDrive and holy shit.. the RS5 can get at best 3.6 - 3.8 for 0 - 60 (w/o 1ft) rollout while the M3 consistently got 3.07s - 3.2s. With a 1ft rollout the M3 can get 2.9 while the RS5 got 3.5 Think I'm going to wait for this M3 after all especially now that I got the VIN |

Went to the dealership yesterday and learned that my build is held up waiting for a radio. Still showing scheduled for production and genius says no production date.
