You are saying “were”. Do you happen to know the current status? I’m only asking because I don’t know myself.

What sizes is everyone going with for their aftermarket wheels for their G8X's??? 20's in front 21's in backs? 20's all around? I'm really hoping there aren't material benefits for staggering them, especially for the X Drive versions.

Wait, are you saying there will be a non staggered option? I thought it would be staggered as always and my future build is 19/20's. Don't see the need for bigger wheels, leave 21's for SUV's, M5's etc. I may even consider 18/19's since I am going with the RWD model thereby regulating weight.

IMO the AWD will need the staggered wheels even more than the RWD to curb the understeer due to the even greater front weight bias and front wheel traction.

Just found this article https://www.motorbiscuit.com/the-202...s-car-letdown/ 53.8% front for the 4 series. Same for the G8X AWD? "Although it is a rear-biased AWD system, it could still potentially upset the platform’s overall balance. Given that it is an M model, the M4 will likely receive other tweaks to counter any potential understeer." Not sure whether this will mean more weight or merely tuning. The G8X RWD engine bay is packed to the brim ... I know this is not being scientific. Perhaps BMW will

“Does the G8X have the same AWD system as the M440iXDrive?”
The M-Xdrive Is based on the standard Xdrive system used in the M440iXdrive but it adds the M active differential and different software that allow the RWD mode. It’s the M5’s AWD system if you want to read up on it more. |

It's incredible how low my excitement level for the new M cars is.
The added weight and size, the design flaws with grille and missing Hofmeister, the unbelievably tacky M Performance Parts and BMWs marketing arrogance are really pushing me away from the current cars.. Sad.. 😔 |

My customers who own Viper ACRs say they get about 0.5 track days out of a set of those stock front tires but the handling & speed the car is capable of is so good that they stick with those tires for most track events.
