Recently our fire department bought in a EV fire truck which use a onboard diesel generator too. What a stupid ideal !!!

Here are the highlight of it.

The Rosenbauer RTX Pumper Truck cost the city $1.8 million, and is between $300,000 and $500,000 more expensive than a traditional diesel-powered engine.

It has a range of about 100 kilometres on a full charge, and an onboard diesel charger that can be used to recharge in the field if necessary.

Automaker Rivian pauses construction of its $5 billion electric truck plant in Georgia
March 7, 2024
ATLANTA (AP) — The CEO of Rivian Automotive announced Thursday that the electric truck maker is pausing construction of its $5 billion manufacturing plant in Georgia to speed production and save money.
State and local governments offered Rivian an incentive package worth an estimated $1.5 billion. The deadline for the company to complete its investment and hiring under that deal was extended to 2030, as Rivian said it would slow its pace of capital investment and as neighbors opposed to development of the Georgia site mounted legal challenges.
If the plant isn’t ultimately built, it would dent Gov. Brian Kemp’s goal of making Georgia a center of the electric vehicle industry. The pause at Rivian contrasts with rapid construction at Hyundai Motor Group’s $7.6 billion electric vehicle and battery complex near Savannah. The plant in Ellabell, announced in 2022, could grow to 8,500 employees. The company recently said it now aims to begin production later this year, instead of in 2025.
JoEllen Artz of Morgan Land, Sky & Water Preservation, a group that has backed legal battles opposing construction of the Rivian project, said she hopes the pause means the plant will never be built.
She said that since the state cut down trees and compacted a building pad for the plant, drainage problems have worsened on the site, with water standing after heavy rains. She said the state and county should have consulted with local residents and studied the site before pushing through with plans for Rivian. She also questions whether electric vehicle demand justifies the plant, and said Kemp should have pulled the plug.

Will Georgia get it money back if the plant isn't built?
Will Green whinnies ever be happy?

Two men were left in serious condition after the Tesla they were traveling in went off an overpass and burst into flames on the 134 Freeway in the Griffith Park neighborhood of Los Angeles Sunday night.
The crash was reported just before 11 p.m. when the car drove through a barrier on the Riverside Drive overpass and landed on the center divider of the freeway below, the Los Angeles Fire Department stated in a news alert.

Two men, aged 65 and 60 managed to exit the vehicle, which eventually burst into flames.

Anyone walking away from that should go directly to a church.
Man, do those things burn. Waiting for the Terminator to push the carcus away, and then stand up.

Tesla might actually lose money this year
The demand for electric vehicles has continued to decline in 2024, even as automakers aggressively slash prices and offer incentives to convince consumers.
Elon Musk’s Tesla — known for selling the most popular EV on the market, by some metrics — is facing renewed skepticism from analysts and investors. Morgan Stanley analyst Adam Jonas, for example, openly wondered, “Could Tesla lose money (sometime) this year?” in a note to clients yesterday (Mar. 6). Jonah cut his price target for Tesla to $320 from $345, pointing out several concerns with the EV market.
Notably, Tesla shares have dropped by more than 13% since Friday and have steadily fallen over the last three consecutive days. In premarket trading Thursday, the stock has declined almost 2%. Plus, the Austin, Texas-based company is no longer one of the top 10 largest U.S.
Luria pointed to a common sentiment among industry experts — those who really want an EV already have one.

This article is poorly researched as Tesla main source of income is selling carbon credits to every company that can't meet the ridiculous CAFE. As long as there are green idiot fascists Musk will be profitable.

It's the same with the FD assessing the Luton car park fire and the Putney bus garage fire.. well that garage comes under Tfl who come under a certain mayor who is pushing for net zero.

SURPRISE, Ariz. — Investigators are trying to determine if a hybrid car caused a home in Surprise to burst into flames Tuesday night.
The home, near Greenway and Dysart Roads, was destroyed by the fire.
“I heard a big boom,” Susana Torres, a neighbor, said.
Neighbors told 12News they heard what sounded like fireworks going off around 8 p.m.
Electric or hybrid car fires can significantly change firefighters’ approach to extinguishing the flames.
“For us, if it’s an EV or a hybrid, we’re going to start the firefight the same,” Subervi said. “Once we verify it’s an EV, we know it’s going to take a lot more water to be able to put that thing out.”

Nothing to see here move along
Tesla catches fire at charging station
NEW ORLEANS — Early Sunday morning, the New Orleans Fire Department responded to a fire at the corner of Caton and St. Bernard. When they arrived, they found a vehicle fire.
The vehicle was parked next to an EV charging station.
Fire officials said when they arrived, no one was near the vehicle. Video from the scene shows an unrecognizable Model X Tesla and a vehicle behind it that was also burned.

That will buff right out

Sweden is charging electric busses with DIESEL generators
Mar 5, 2024
We are constantly being told that we should switch to electric vehicles to reduce climate emissions.
In Sweden there is a company called X-trafik that operates busses in the cities of Gävle and Sandviken.
They have bought in 52 electric busses from the Chinese company BYD in order to become "environmentally friendly".
However, this green shift has caused massive chaos with freezing busses in the ice cold Swedish winter and hundreds of cancellations. Of course, all paid for by the Swedish tax payer.
Turns out that the electric busses didn't have enough range and they couldn't charge the busses fast enough, which led to up to 100 busses being cancelled every day, leaving people stranded in the cold Swedish winter.
They have now brought in massive diesel generators to be able to charge the electric busses - This of course at an extra cost.
Yes, you read that correctly. They cannot charge the new electric busses because there isn't enough energy to go around.
This remind me of how they had to use diesel generators to keep wind power turbines in Scotland warm during the winter.

Welcome to the Net Zero agenda.

Warning Truth Bomb.
Electric 18-wheelers are even stupider than electric cars
5 March 2024
“It still boggles my mind,” says Jeffrey Short, Vice President of the American Transport Research Institute.
Mr. Short was talking about the findings of a study conducted by ATRI recently, which quantifies how much additional power generation capacity would have to be added to America’s existing electric grid to convert the nation’s entire heavy truck fleet to battery electric vehicles.
First, ATRI finds that US nationwide power generation would need to increase 40 per cent over the coming years just to accommodate the additional load placed on the various regional grids to recharge all the new heavy truck batteries.
Where will all the new power generation, and all the new supplies of critical minerals needed to make it reality, come from? ATRI estimates that converting the heavy truck fleet will require the US to somehow source a volume of lithium alone that equates to 35 years of current global production of that key mineral.
Expanding the grid and making all the millions of heavy new truck batteries will also require massive new resources of copper, cobalt, graphite, antimony, and an array of rare earth minerals not currently in widespread production within US borders.
Currently, a brand new diesel-powered 18-wheeler is priced at between $150,000 - $180,000, but ATRI says a new electric model goes for almost triple that, at between $400,00 - $500,000.
Then there’s the weight factor. Currently, a new 18-wheeler with an internal combustion engine averages a little more than 18,000 pounds. New battery electric trucks average 32,000 lbs, give or take.
How much more of a load will we force our future generations to bear before someone in a position of authority has the good sense to demand an accounting and reconsideration of this headlong rush into a green debtor’s prison?

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/us/comme...sport-freight/

Answer a lot more good sense than is occupying the government of almost every civilized country right now.

New bill outlines a longer path to zero-emission vehicle rules in CT
