From what I’ve been reading, it takes 1-2 weeks to build a m3/m4. If this is true, we should be moving to 150 in the next week or 2, right?

You’re looking at about a week tops typically. Obviously, if it gets held up in QC, maybe a bit longer.

You should be right about moving to 150. I think closer to two weeks but yeah, agreed.

Alright, Week 30-ers:

According to the BWM Genius I spoke to about an hour ago, if you don’t have a VIN posted on your MyGarage site by July 18th, you’re likely going to be delayed.

I don’t know who to believe anymore when I call them, but I figured I’d pass along the information.

No problem. They told me likely it’ll be next week that a VIN will pop up, assuming there isn’t a delay. If you don’t get a VIN by the 18th, call and they can tell you what week you were delayed to. She said don’t rely on the MyGarage site at that point.

I didn't know I was either! Just was able to get allocation at 112 status that was week 30, got it changed yesterday from the original dealer stock order RWD to Comp XDrive.

Are the Geniuses still giving you realistic hope when you call? I’m surprised they are out of the loop as much as they are when it comes to delays. I know it hasn’t been confirmed, but I feel like it’s getting pretty obvious that it’s the carbon buckets causing delays. I’m surprised that they’re not aware (at least from those I’ve spoke to) about the severity of the situation and keep implying the chances are excellent that all is on schedule for my build and others with buckets.

For what it’s worth — During the first time around (MY23 G80 w/ carbon buckets), each time I called the genius it was always, “Everything looks good for you with your Build week of 21, blah, blah, blah, etc. etc.”. Then bam, I went 100! But I will try to remain positive

The Geniuses, after all, are only able to see a screen that has a date/week, they don't really know what's going on at the factories, so they're only messengers. Anything can happen.

I was waiting for you to post. Yeah, that’s what I was worried about. It’s ridiculously unpredictable. I’ll do my best to be patient at this point…and vent here when I can. lol

It seems weird to me that if they had little to no bucket inventory that they would just notify all who have a pending build vs keep postponing the build over and over again.

I can appreciate that, but then they should make that clear instead of telling individuals “Nope, you’re right on track as scheduled. Don’t be worried!” I’ve let them know concerns around the carbon bucket shortage and they still don’t change their tune, which to me is humorous, given numerous individuals having their builds postponed. They tend to take the stance of “This is what the computer says and that’s when I’d expect your build,” which when it comes to a build with a carbon bucket option seems to be inappropriate thinking at the moment.
