I’m hoping the M2 CS becomes a special car too. Not sure if it’ll have xDrive, but either way, I’m certain it’ll be one of the best sports cars on the market when it comes out.

In stock form… umm, yeah. What did you expect with the weight and less power than the base M4? But, as I said, that’s the beauty of this platform. If your intent in to tune them anyway, then get whatever config fits your needs, but if you’re trying to spend less money and maybe don’t want to buy used, an M2 has the same hardware capabilities in terms of performance as the others do. That said, this obviously won’t work for people who keep things the same as they come out of the box, but aside from a software controlled detune, there is nothing keeping that M2 from having the same power as any other S58 equipped car. The hardware is absolutely all the same. A lot of folks don’t know that if they’re not techy nerdy hands on type of car people.

I am one of those who does not modify cars Especially the engine. Once you go down that road, nothing is enough, you always want more. Been there, done that, when I was young.

Also, it was not the power, or lack there of, that turned me off the M2, it was its chassis. It was vague, especially the front end. It did not feel balanced, or composed. The M3CS feels very buttoned down, precise, ready to dance at any point, and very predictable.

I’ve had 8x G8x since April 2021 including M4 CSL and have extensively test driven 992 base, S, 4S, S 7MT, GTS, and 4 GTS. I’ve also owned 4x 992 Turbo/Turbo S, and have a 5th on the way. My comments come from actual experience and are corroborated by independent objective measures such as Nurburgring times for all of these products.

As someone who owns neither but is looking at possibly purchasing an M3 (despite my username indicating me wanting an M5 haha)

I think the CS is worth the money (at MSRP only though) however, I wasn't aware in my research that the M3 CS didn't have the 360 camera package. I'd love to have a CS (despite no center console cupholders and no armrest) but I do prefer a 360 camera.

My current car does not have it and though it doesn't bother me too much it would be nice to have in my next car. Then again I back into most parking spots and rarely park forward-facing in a spot haha.

“anyone with experience” ………How about you?

You’ve spent little to no time behind the wheel of these cars, yet you step in and speak authoritatively like you have.

I don’t care how many random YouTube reviews you’ve watched. You’re not equipped to have this discussion.

Let me preface this by saying this car is not my daily driver. However I have put a lot of miles on it for being a "weekend" car, about 4500 since I got it and never once missed 360 cameras nor a center console. The elbow piece fits me perfect. Missing the cupholders kinda sucks but doesn't bother me enough to make me bitch on here like some... This car puts far more smiles on my face than any other car I've owned and its so darn capable I love it. TBH getting in and outta the seats may very well be the worst thing about it IMO but I dont know if I would change anything it, maybe a little more sound but that would be it.

Wait... My CS doesnt have the parking assist shit? I havent stopped driving it since I got it last month so no parking yet

As for those who can and want to make their X's in CS's; sure you can and thats a great situation but when you go to sell it try and tell the buyer you did a CS tune and added all the parts and see if you can recoup the value vs someone who just is one of 360 in the states that has the real deal.

Again... All our G80's are special as Ive had two prior to my CS (RWD Comp and X Comp) and its common knowledge one can mod, add, and set their car up to get close or even at the CS level but at what cost and at what value if you ever want to dump it?

Money is relative- I just took the easy route which may have cost more up front- maybe. I do like my hood though LOL.

Oh and as a 992 GTS owner and 8 other 911's prior- the CS is amazing and easily swappable when it comes to smiles in my ownership/driving experience. And I got frozen paint and CCBs for msrp at 133k; no 992 can be had for that (at that power level) and Im a Porsche fanman. Both brilliant cars and so are all G8X's- best bang for the buck cars out there.
