My wife was IT Director for a fortune 500 company, she came to government after that.....needless to say her rants fully support my position this is more of a comparison to private-public sector than Japanese vs US management.

the joys of dealing with modern IT outsourcing, I thought the government ones I dealt with back last century were bad, but the private sector has proved me wrong they were merely average in reflection and the current group has box ticking rules worse than anything I encountered in the government.
