At 4,000+ for the AWD M3 and 5 inches longer, for those of us that don't track our cars, I might as well consider something similarly fast, more practical, and bit less "out there".

Waiting to see how the G87 M2 turns out otherwise I'll go back to a OG M2. All these new and over-styled models are not doing it for me.

Already made my choice, went to a 981 GT4.
Really enjoyed the F82, but wanted to expand my horizons and see what Porsche had to offer. G82 is not my cup of tea, hate the looks(subjective). Then again, my dedicated track car is a C5 Vette lol, but I didn't buy that for looks. I'll re-evaluate in 2-3 years, but really enjoying the GT4 as a DD for now! |

Since my F80 comp is my DD whatever next has to be just as practical. I am looking for more refinement but dont want the size of the next class up M5, E63, etc.
In a couple years Ill look at the G80 comp, Alfa QV (if they give it an exterior facelift), Audi RS5 (if they give it a hp bump), or the next gen C63 (if they dont stick a 4 cylinder in it). |

Need some advice.
I love new cars, and l love getting them often, so I am a serial leaser. Both my previous and current F80 are leased. What I love so much about the F80 is the decent lease deals. I would love to move to Porsche but I'm honestly going to have a hard time swallowing a 7k mile/yr lease for more money on what is pretty much a slower car on the track unless I pony up for a GT3. I'm likely going to purchase if I get a Porsche just because I don't think they lease well. The problem is I know I will most likely tire of it in 3 years and I will want to sell. So that leaves me with a used 991.2 that has already depreciated so I can sell without losing too much money. Thoughts? Is there anything else I should be considering? Budget is about $1300/mo for a lease or $50k in depreciation in 3 years. Coupe is fine, manual or dual clutch, I will be tracking it.

With that out of the way, there is not a great selection of performance cars out there at that price point that are really differentiated. My short list would be; American ZL1-1LE Camaro, Vette, Mustang GT350 Japanese Supra, NSX, ?? European 911, 718 GT4, C63, RS6, R8, M3, M5, ?? |

Youre pretty much me lol. I leased 2 F80s. I knew I always wanted a 911 so when I started researching them I realized they lease terribly. So I purchased a CPO 911.2 7spd manual for a good price. Im confident I can sell it in a year or two without taking too much of a loss. Im estimating losing about $10-15k in value in 2 years at worst; which means Im paying $625/month to drive a 911 |

I'm now considering a 840 or M850 depending on the cost. I'm growing to like the looks of the M4, but I love the looks of the 8.

I'm now looking for this mercedes benz glc option as I got tired of my previous car. I think this car will be the best choice for our big family. For me, a comfortable ride and spacious interior are the main things I pay attention to.

Too heavy (300lb over the F8X), too big (wheelbase longer than an 8-series), demise of the DCT and too pricey (huge price hike in Canada) will have me change brands when it's time to replace my M4cs.

I put a deposit on a 992 turbo. I am not too keen on the styling of the G8X, but I could have lived with it if they would have made a 3,500~3,600lb DCT M4 priced in the F8X range (with normal inflation).

I have had the first of every M3/M4 coupe generation since my 2001 E46, which I have kept for their full model cycles. My current '15 M4 Coupe only has 42k on it and has been totally trouble-free for over 6 years. I, like many others, decry the increase in size and weight of the G platform car.
I'm not sure what I will do, but probably will not get one of the first. I will be interested in what direction the next M2 takes as a potential option.

I would not even consider a base 992. While the chassis is mesmerizing, it feels significantly underpowered even compared the an F8X. The -S seems to be the sweet spot.

I'm not coming from a M car but curious to hear what F8X folks are gonna switch to. In the same price bracket not many competitive choices unfortunately. In my shopping process seriously considered the G82, W205 C63S,and a few Porsche models ( 718 GTS and Macan GTS)
911s are a lot more expensive. A reasonably specced 992 C2S in Canada is easily top of line M5 money. I'm personally bit sad missing out on the last year of W205 C63S Coupe. Mechanically the car is still awesome with the V8, the MCT gearbox and the trick traction control system that BMW def copied to the G8X 😁 .. but rest of car is rather long in the tooth and it's somehow even more expensive than G82 and AMGs lease horribly in Canada. I quickly crossed off the current RS5 from the list, would argue the facelift Macan GTS or Turbo is the better application of the EA839 2.9TT V6 in this price range from VAG. The GTS Macan is a decent "deal " relative to the Turbo but I can't stomach >90k cad for the performance disparities vs G82. That leaves the Giulia QF, the fossil specimen known as RCF and whatever comes out of Cadillac CT5 Blackwing.... Really need fresh competition! |
