Yes, it turns on the rain sensor instead of having it standing upwards. It allows to have an extra wipe with just a touch without turning on/off rain sensor.

Passenger seat memory requires that your passenger seat has the large (codable) seat module. It requires some wiring work in the door and coding. Pretty easy retrofit.

I did get it working yes. Unfortunately it’s not simple that I can just post the values to alter as it requires changes in one of the secure coded modules.

Favorite Interior Mod?

GoPro all the things I say :-)

This doesn't block the view and gets a decent shot as well.

I bought mine with the white plastic knob and it felt really, really cheap. I'd probably avoid it altogether if I were you.
On a side note, what brand phone mount are you using. Looks sleek and practical

No. eBay and I do not recommend. It turned out good for me but had to fix buttons that weren’t working among other things.
I would just pay the $2000 and get it OEM and worry free.

Is that an aftermarket wiper switch, or one from a different model? Where did you find it, and how hard was the install? Thanks.

Its OEM column stalks from G11 7-series MY2015/2016. Its easy to install and coding is required.

It works like this:

Wow thank you for sharing...I miss the old blinker stalk and didn't know this was possible. Definitely adding to my mod list.

Yes, the old touch column stalks feels so much more premium than the new "mechanical stalks". No plastic rattling when the blinker pops, and you can have auto wiper activated at the same time you do a swipe. They are lovely!

Remember that they need coding to work. Just let me know when you have done the retrofit I can provide the codings.

Do you happen to know which modules need coding? I hope they're still codable on the LCIs. My car is in the middle of the Atlantic right now so I can't check myself

Just some parameters in BDC is needed. It would be a surprise if it can't be added to the LCI as well.

Hysterical. I remember when people went apesh!t when BWM brought out the stalks that didn't stick in position. Now that they've gone back, I'm kind of glad that they did but funny to see the opposite reaction!

In the G8x, you can flip the stock up to get a "Mist wipe" which is just one wipe. You don't turn on the auto sensor doing this. I'm assuming whatever car this is in works differently?

On G8x: If you have the rain sensor on auto, you have to pull the stalk down to "0-position", touch down one more time on the stalk to get a wipe, and manually bring it back to "auto". Yes, you can flip the sensitivity stock, but thats not logic at all.

On my stalks: Push the button to turn on rain sensor. Touch the stalk down to get a wipe, and the rain sensor is still on. No needed to pull it back or push the auto button again.

Ok, I wasn't aware you wanted this functionality while in auto.

I don't know, I don't really find it that big of a deal to flip it to "Lo" (down) one then back up to auto if I want an extra wipe.
