I’ve watched the video in the first post at least 10-15 times, over the years and as he explains, BMW spent 3 years and over 30 test loops to identify the compounds that are present in the PS4S Star.
Considering the fact that they’d done testing in the past, with Pilot Super Sport and other tires. So, it taking 3 years to develop a compound for the PS4S, it may take a little while to come to a decision on the S5. Unless they just have an entire database of information and they don’t need to do any real world testing. Which I’m not even sure is possible. Chances are, Michelin and BMW could have already been working on this before the S5 was even announced to the mainstream, which had already been a few years. Just my thoughts.
