G80 Carbon Fiber Mirror Cover/Cap Thread

I installed the cabon fiber mirror caps and very happy with the fitment. The only issue is the wind noise on the drivers side and still haven't figured out how to eliminate it.

I just installed mine a couple days ago and I'm noticing this as well. It's like the driver's side one doesn't fit as well as the passenger side one and the slight gap between the housing and the cap is causing this.

Did you ever figure it out?

Did you remove the mirror when installing or just move the mirror down to pop out the clips?

Just moved the mirror out of the way so I can access the two clips. Removing the mirror is risky, you have a chance of breaking it. All you need is a flat head screw driver and some light so you can see where the clips are.

Is dongsai a supplier for CT?

I tried going the cheap route on my F80 mirror caps and the fitment was terrible. Ended up returning and getting an OEM set.

Unfortunately, nothing fits as good as OEM... Also 99% of these carbon mirror caps on the aftermarket are dropshipped straight from AliExpress so fitment is always hit or miss. Got my set for $290 and I'd give the fitment a 7/10 but it makes a whistling noise above 40 mph so I'm going to take some compressed air and spray it tomorrow and see where there needs to be some clear tape applied to seal it up.

If you're getting a brand new G80/G82, I highly recommend the OEM carbon package, at least you won't run into fitment issues, guaranteed.

I have rw carbon. No complains so far. Figment is great and no whistling noise either.

Anyone have pictures of aftermarket compared to oem? I got lazy and forgot to add oem carbon pack and now past the point to make changes
