So is your phone, computer, shoes, clothes you are wearing, the chair you are sitting on,appliances in your home and office, etc...

Most things are now made overseas (China).

China is a country with tens of thousands of manufacturers (some of them are really good, some are really bad and you wont be able to tell from a picture online) just because something is made there does not mean its bad quality.
The same applies to the U.S. if it is made here, it does not automatically mean high quality.

Just because you find a copy of a product on Ali Baba does not mean you are getting the same product. What you are getting is a copy of a copy of a copy. Not the exact fitment or quality. Also, no genuine warranty since shipping the item back to China will cost more than the item's cost.

Go On eBay, and you will see endless copies; check the reviews, and most of them do not fit.

I don't think it's fair to assume you are getting the same product just because you saw a copy online.

Sorry for the rant

oh i know this all too well, i have absolutely no issues with that at all! If i know i can get it cheaper from over seas and wait a bit for it i have no problem rockin' those parts especially if i know what i am getting myself into imo! Some rather have the parts right away with customer support and warranty, others like me don't mind for the wait and no warranty

I have the full Valvetronic stainless installed since April. Plenty of compliments on the look and sound of the exhaust. I have had no issues at all with it. It was much cheaper than the alternatives at the time of purchase.

In saying that It would be nice if companies were a little more transparent of where the product was actually produced. I would hope that Valvetronic being a Pennsylvania company actually made my exhaust in house and that it did not come from China assembled. If they got the pipe from China but they fabricated it I would feel better about the experience.

It is tough sometimes to know exactly what your getting if it matters to a purchaser. All you can do is research and make the best choice for yourself.

I have had the full Ti Valvetronic exhaust installed since Monday. It sounds great and dropped a bunch of weight from the car. My mechanic said the install went well and was relatively easy to adjust and fit properly into place. I have zero complaints and recommend it. Like was mentioned previously, many many things both high end and low are made in China. It's the quality control and requirements of the company contracting the manufacture of the goods that makes the difference.

Go do some digging it is, I was about to buy their turbo back but read it's China and how bad the service is and walked away.

They did not it was a drop ship from China. If they would finally admit it and not continue to claim they made it in PA it wouldn't be so bad. It's the deception of claiming it's made here is the problem.

It's also telling that they are following this thread and haven't commented much to all the questions and concerns in this thread. I guess it is what it is. Too bad.

Good afternoon everyone,
In response to the question above, various materials and components are sourced from overseas. Many of these factories supply components for competing brands along with numerous OEMs. Out of respect for our industry counterparts, we will not be naming other companies but ALL major manufacturers source and manufacture products overseas. Our goal is to engineer and manufacture the best components utilizing the best materials so enthusiasts around the world can enjoy their vehicles to the fullest extent.

A perfect example of OEM overseas exhaust manufacturing can be seen below. These images are from a Porsche 981 GT4. Stamped on the collectors and other components, you can clearly see the words “Made In China.” With Porsches’ well-earned reputation in engineering some of the worlds finest cars, common sense dictates they would work only work with factories that meet their exacting standards. Other top-tier OEMs work with these factories as well including McLaren and BMW. Valvetronic Designs follows the very same principles, but on a slightly smaller scale!

Nice. Could you share some pictures of your products being made in the factory since it's in the US?

whatever it is, I'm pretty sure there are a few manufactures out there that manufacture the same exhausts with different qualities and fitment issues. Specifically valvetronic, the design is not only identical but the only difference I spot is that the valvetronic etching is not on these exhausts which is easily done. You can get different finishes and different mid-pipe designs for 1/2 the cost shipped.

Absolutely, attached below you will find some photos of our F chassis exhaust, and our F8X equal-length systems being manufactured for both the M3/M4 and M2 competition. Not all systems are produced in this facility. We work with a partner manufacturing firm to build systems as we are limited on space at our current facility. This facility also builds many components for Soul Performance, another Pennsylvania-based exhaust manufacturing company.

Regarding copies, mike@x-ph.com said it very well. There are copies of products everywhere. When the G8x was released, we were the first to offer a single midpipe exhaust solution. This setup has been copied many times proving our single midpipe is still the sound solution for the G8x platform. Regarding drop shipping, there is a large difference between engineering products through multiple revisions and drop shipping off-the-shelf items. At our facility In Pennsylvania, we spend months engineering testing and revising our products to ensure optimal fitment and sound characteristics. Once we confirm the product is up to our standards, we coordinate with our partners to source material and begin production of the final revision weather overseas or here in the USA. Compare this to drop shipping off-the-shelf items you can buy from these websites. The experience and products you will receive are not the same. We are happy these questions are being asked as our goal is to show people that saving the money upfront will leave them with an unsatisfactory experience down the line. We have had countless customers who have purchased from alibaba or other websites thinking they are getting the same product, when in fact they are getting a replica made of poor materials with bad fitment characteristics. You do get what you pay for.

Ultimately our goal in the community is to offer the absolute best customer experience. From the day somebody interacts with the Valvetronic brand to their exhaust purchase to the day they sell the car, we want our customers to be able to have a flawless experience throughout. At the end of the day, we are all human in the same community. We will never be perfect but are working to get as damn close as we can. We are so fortunate to have many great customers who have chimed in about their experience with our exhaust systems. For those who have issues, please reach out to us at: info@valvetronic.com. We are here to help. Thank you for keeping us accountable. We will continue to craft great products for the community to enjoy!

So let me summarize his long winded roller coaster posts. No they dont make these exhausts. Yes they are from china. Yes most of them are available on alibaba. But if you buy from valvetronic, they may answer your phone call and or respond to an email when it fits terrible or is damaged.

Yes. But if you just buy it from their ‘partner’ (which you can identify with certainty if you know where to look) you’ll get the exact same product for less than half the cost and if there’s an issue, you can buy a second and still be into it for less.

Would be nice to know which companies make stuff in house so i know if paying the premium is justified.

Also i dont mind cheap stuff. sometimes im looking for low cost options (front splitter for example) where i can compromise on quality, so long as fitment is decent.
