I do not, but I do have the "M Drive Professional" which is described as:

The M Drift Analyzer and the M Laptimer help to further expand your performance by providing a comprehensive overview shown in the instrument cluster or optional Head-up Display."

...and I still get the occasional windows up on hard braking.

Yeah, no that's not it.
I am not saying I am 100% sure, but I haven't has the windows roll up on me, and I definitely have done a fair amount of hard and emergency braking, both when bedding in and on track.

I don’t think hard braking alone will do it.
I think there needs to be something in front of the car that your sensors will “see” like a tire wall, barrier, cone or another car. Another is if you lose all 4 tires and spin. Windows have rolled up on me on those occasions.

It totally defeats the purpose of running windows down for extraction in case of an accident if the car automatically rolls them up in an accident. It makes no sense.
Might have to find the window fuse and yank it

This happened a couple times last weekend in my student's M5 comp under threshold braking with another vehicle in front. It was both hilarious for me sitting in the passenger seat and quite unnerving for him. However, putting the car into TRACK mode fixed it. That will disable the Intelligent Safety features. This mode is only available if you have the M Drive Professional package. I have this package in my car and always drive in TRACK mode when on track so have not experienced this issue.

These two comments seem contradictory... Who's right?

Just got done tracking my G80 on Friday (with M Drive Professional) and had no issues threshold braking coming off the straight. Car was in track mode with DSC completely off and in 4WD Sport.

No sensors or window issues even with cars close in front of me. I’ll update this thread as I get more seat time and if I see any changes in behavior

Not sure. Just stating my experience. I always run in track mode, 4wd sport and never had an issue. Make sure the green circle on the dash for the intelligent safety nannies are off.

TRACK mode, which I always have enabled on track, will disable "certain" safety systems, ie the Intelligent Safety features. These features include:

Pedestrian Warning
Front Collision Warning
Lane Departure Warning - With Steering Intervention
Side Collision Warning
Blind Spot Detection - With Steering Intervention

Clearly, any "steering intervention" is extremely unsafe and inappropriate on a track, and all the warnings can be distracting to the point of being dangerous, so having these off is a good feature.

However, when a vehicle is equipped with the front collision hardware, it also has a "pre-crash" feature, which will roll up the windows and close the sunroof. This is NOT disabled with TRACK mode for some reason. It should be IMHO.

Maybe the student driver just started to take it easy and it was merely a coincidence that they were not activating pre-crash. You really have to be pushing it to activate it, the only times mine activated where when I clearly pushed it unnecessarily too far and either got too close to another object while at a high rate of speed, or the car was in a 4 wheel spin.

This sounds like a rehash of the fuel starvation topic in the F8X, or the engine overheating with stock coolers on the E9X.
It doesn't happen to everyone, because you need to be above a certain level to get it to happen.

It's hard to believe no one has been able to code it out of the car

I don't have active cruise. maybe that's it? It triggered when he was threshold braking, about a car length from another car that was already turning in. After we switched to track mode though, no issues with the same pattern. Odd.

That has happened to me too.. threshold brake from 100mph into a corner with a car in front of me. They were maybe a car or 2 length ahead of me, and I was in Track Mode as well. Windows still went up.

No active cruise, and I have M Drive Professional.

Also, I've spun 3 times in this car and they went up each time. I wasn't near another car or barrier.

Interesting, I've never spun the g80 but I do trail brake into corners. I will keep an eye on it.

Well.. two of those spins were intentional.

Just got done with a track day today at Buttonwillow and had no issue with the windows rolling up even after hard braking at the end of a straight and frontal collision warning.

What packages do you have and what M mode were you in?

I have Driver's Assistance Package and M Driver's Package.

Manual, Sport or Sport Plus everything and MDM. Had the MMI on the middle screen and not Track. Forget what it's called.

Here's a video coming down a straight and the Frontal Collision Warning chime alerting.

According to your video, you're at 0.6g braking on the straight. You have a LOT more braking force at your disposal. I'm usually around 1-1.2g when braking hard. Your windows won't come up until you brake harder.

Good point. That was just one example that I pulled, I'll have to see if I was recording for others. That example I had to let off the gas a few times on the straight as I was catching up to the Mustang and didn't need to brake as hard as I normally would for that turn.

Where are you pulling your G data? Curious to see how accurate HLT is in that regard.

I use a Garmin Catalyst now, but I used to use TrackAddict on my phone. The G data is pretty consistent between the two for me, so anecdotally as long as you mount your phone somewhere (and it's not just sitting in a cupholder or something), it should be fairly accurate.
