Congratulations! Owning a brand new current-gen M3/M4 at the beginning of the generation is still top-of-food-chain behavior to me, even after owning several exotics. Even more now with the ostentatious looks and supercar-level performance. Thinking back, I was just as excited to see an E46 M3 back in the day in 2001 as I was a 996TT or 360 or whatever. Enjoy, and continue being the great and humble ambassador to the hobby that you appear to be.

Fun stories for sure. I drove back to back cars with broken AC, one a black Firebird when I lived in TX. I’ve had Ford Escort, a bunch of stuff.

The second best car I owned was a Mercury Sable, with only my E46 better.

It is for me said the guy who once drove a car with no working windshield wipers!!!!
Congrats on your G83. They truly are amazing cars. The looks and comments we get are awesome. But the best part is knowing the journey it took to own one. 4 years ago I was jobless, about to get married and no clue what do with a car the leaked in the rain. And now I'm 10 weeks into my g83 working a dream job I don't know existed. Congrats on your g83 and congrats on your journey.

There are different food chains...

4 door, totally trackable, drive it home, tour in it, 24 MPG, updated.. all wheel drive, insurance is not un-affordable,

I think it's great and the top of many peoples food chain. Just because Florida has "a dime a dozen" doesn't mean much... top of the food chain and exclusive are very different.

Everyone pooping on my man's "top of the food chain" comment needs to relax. Saying a G8X isn't top of the food chain because Koenigseggs and LaFerraris exist is like saying a humpback whale isn't a massive animal because blue whales exist.

You guys need to appreciate your cars more. As someone who had to work for anything and everything I have, I consider driving a G80 a life achievement and milestone. I used to drive a 2003 Subaru that would randomly shut off sometimes when stopping at red lights.

Dude congrats to you. It's great to see you enjoying the EXPERIENCE of owning and driving the car and not taking it for granted. There are some real assholes shitting on your parade because they live life like a d*ck measuring contest. They must be really fun people to be around…. Keep being appreciative. I know I will be the same way when mine comes in the next few weeks. There are plenty of us here who worked hard to be able to own things like this and don't need to shit on others. Humility and appreciation are still admirable characteristics so keep on keeping on. 👍🏽👍🏽

It never stops. Social media created one hell of a generation. Even competition model owners will clown on manual drivers like me for being "slow" lol… remember when a 500hp RWD manual was considered a widowmaker?

I live in SE Florida and don't see many G80-83s at all. I do know 2 others who own them, but I don't see them driving around. Certainly, no dime a dozen as you claim.

I'm picking mine up tomorrow. I don't know where it fits on the food chain, but I'm sure it'll be just fine.
We found ourselves out in the Hamptons as they say, this summer. The 911 was as ubiquitous as a Ford 150 is around here. There seemed to be all kinds of places that would rent you all manner of fancy cars so you keep up appearances.
