GoldfishTX Could you share with me the contact? It's definitely not common in the Bay Area, at least not Fremont, Pleasanton, or Concord. They say the X5 plug-in hybrid is the most popular car so they won't give any discount. Three years ago, most dealerships in the Bay Area had $5000 to $10,000 markup. Now, it's easy to find one without markup, but not discount.

You need to find one "on the lot". Dealers are paying interest on flooring loans and are motivated to sell now, rather than letting a qualified buyer to walk away. If you plan to pay cash or finance elsewhere, say that you want to look at what they have to offer (lease, rates) , rather than telling them your plans. They will think they can suck money out of you on those things.

You should easily be able to order with a discount, too. There are very few vehicles where it's a seller's market right now. Dealerships are still pretending it's not true sometimes, but keep looking and mark those off your list. I've bought two cars in the last couple of years and have a couple of dealerships on my do not call list as I look for a third.

GoldfishTX your contact is super helpful. When I asked him about the discount, he replied immediately: "Yep I can discount X5 50e no problem."

We are going to order the individual color - and he is helping us to check if the colors we want (Atlantis Blue, Long Beach Blue, or Voodoo Blue) is available on the X5. Other dealers say they aren't available - but we are glad that your contact says he will send an email to BMW rep to check on those colors. Thanks again for sharing the contact!!
