The M850i has had carbon fiber roof as an option in the US since 2019.

At this point, I see little reason to buy a real M car. They already changed the mirrors and grilles for the M Performance models and the interiors are the same.

Why is everyone gatekeeping aesthetic/exterior/interior mods for M-Lites?

I personally thinking blurring the lines between M-Lite and //M cars is a good idea. Let people get the cool aesthetics of the M-Lite. Save the true //M for people who want the real meaning of //M: performance.

I couldn't care less if the M340i, M3, and M3 CS have the exact same steering wheel stitching. It doesn't cheapen the M3 or the CS at all.
