2022 BMW M4   [10.00]
Ordered from a dealer with an allocation on 11/6. Car is built and awaiting transport. I anticipate another 4-8 weeks.

I think my timetable is about as good as it gets. All in I'd say 3-4 months from order to hands is best case.

Nothing personal, but since I haven't made a decision yet on whether to buy this car or not, I'm going to stay quiet for now. If I decide against it, I'll post the info.

From when BMW accepted my order (production number assigned), 6 months and 2 weeks. From when I put my deposit down? Little shy of 16 months Good luck!

And yet, my G82 went through production the week of 11/8, and it's been in QC since, going on 6+ weeks. So I don't think anyone really knows how long it'll take.

I got super lucky. Placed order on July 4 and received car October 21. No delays whatsoever along the journey. So probably 3.5 months is about as good it gets.

Ordered my 2022 M4 Competition xDrive, with every option, except Carbon Buckets, and carbon exterior package. I thought my car was going to take longer, because I'd ordered the Carbon Ceramic brakes, reading that they take like 2 months to make 1 rotor. I guess they make a lot of sets, and they have them readily available. I also ordered the M Drivers Package which raises the speed governor from 155 to 184. Again, not something most people order.

Ordered my car on July 14th. Allocation was already in 112 status, accepted for production. July 29 received my VIN number, car was scheduled for production. Initial assembly started on August 24th, and the car was completed, and 500 miles away at the Bremerhaven Port on August 29th. Loaded on a ship October 8th. Arrived at Port Hueneme, in Southern California, on November 6th. The car had a RAM stop sale, and was at the port 8 days, and then loaded on the transport on November 14th, and arrived at the dealer, on November 18th. I took delivery November 19th. 127 days from Order to Delivery, and I'm in California. Figure at least 2-3 weeks less, for Florida.

A BMW mechanic indicated the same CCB discs are shared throughout the M line so the rotors are no made JIT. There are many sitting around for manufacturing and warranty replacement.

With current manufacturing capabilities, it's highly unlikely that it's going to take that long to manufacture a single rotor. It might have been an uneducated statement from your dealer or someone to portray that CCBs are really special. Also as in the previous comment, it's highly unlikely that BMW is going to use an unique rotor for this platform.

Current shortage is mostly for semi conductors. Other than logistic issues, there isn't major issues for calipers, rotors or body panels.

You're right. I was trying to shoot from the hip with the time to takes. I looked it up, again, and it's more like 20 days, per rotor.

Its more like 4 days for a batch and batch size is based on the manufacturing capabilities of the Tier 1 supplier. Here is a link to the documentary about the process.

I'm pretty sure they have a bunch on hand, they're not making them to order!

Did you do individual order? i did an individual order in the start of september, just got off the phone with bmw genius they told me i would be on the boat by january. So unless its not a individual order i would be skeptical.
