Mikey does EcuTek for builds over 1200WHP for the integration. I love BM3 but would consider EcuTek too. A bunch of our great tuners on the forum swear by it.

First startup today! The built engine is going through break-in and will be ready for pickup soon. I can’t wait to finish the forst 500 miles, change oil/filter and ATF, and SEND IT!!!

Engine break-in started with mild boost and 2-4K RPM rev-ups, then vacuum pulls to rev down, for the 150 mile drive home from Autocraft BMW. This morning she’ll get an oil change with more BR30 oil and a new filter. I’ll also pull the (new) spark plugs to give a extra look, and check the gaps for shrink or stretch.

Can't wait to watch her rip! What made you pick the Mishimoto intake manifold over CSF? I'm just curious!

From the other racers I’ve spoken to the Mishi cools better than CSF. It’s a nice price too.

RK Autowerks has a new one that “I hear” runs cooler than the Mishi, but have not seen logs I could really compare.

I’m pretty sure stimikey ran a Mishi intake manifold before switching to the new RK manifold for his 7 second pass.

RK has a new intake manifold? I'm in the market for one. Currently looking at the D088 unit, they appear to be well known but I've not heard of them before.

They're big in the Porsche world and have a great reputation there.

What’s Mikey’s last name?

The build looks fantastic, can’t wait to see the results!

Wow. I didn't know Kratos turbos were available yet. Ball bearing? Where did you order from?

I spoke with Kratos directly about doing prototype testing. They sell direct and also through mike@x-ph.com

New models are journal bearing. Journal is more durable than ball bearing. BB has less drag but is harder to keep oiled right (needs inline filters to keep pinhole oilers clean).

Enjoy some video of Dave Locallio from Headgames doing his hand port on my S58 head!

That video is pretty cool, thank you for sharing. Curious how the headwork will help with top end.
I heard him say peak will stay similar but I think RPM is a limiting factor for the S58... once they get deep in the 7s and maybe even a 6, I have a feeling it will require well over 8k+ revs.

The comment between Dave and I at the end was about if I had added the combustion chamber smoothing to my hand port job. The port already increased the whole flow curve. If I had time for smoothed combustion chambers that would have added some power in the middle of the curve. To get more top end I would need the CNC to optimize the runners and get maximum peak flow, but that might take away from my low-mid RPM torque.
