Initial impression after 1st resonator delete: very little increase in volume( 10% or less) More defined pop and crackle. Zero drone. If you are after more volume I say just do them both.

*Speculation here* but I'm assuming that the second resonator has a merge of some sort as both 3 cylinder banks need to be merged at some point and on F8X and F97/8 it happens in the resonator - so just check that when you remove the second one, and be ready to weld in an H or X if needed. I only say this because on S55, not merging the pulses results in an even bigger doo-doo sound than stock... not advisable.
I think deleting the secondary cats will have the biggest impact on volume. There's no sensors on secondary cats on F8X or F97/8, so I assume there's no sensors on G8X.

Looking forward to hearing some audio once you've dialed it in! Totally agree that the sound from factory is pretty tame

I removed the primary resonator yesterday. Made a tiny tiny difference. I'm going back to remove secondary res. Agreed. It's quiet. Very quiet. My 2018 M440 was twice as loud.

The interior is just really well sound proofed. In my m2c I ran with the back seats down at all times for more volume, maybe give that a shot too. |

I'm going back for secondary cat delete later this month. Sport plus is much louder than sport. Cold start sounds amazing. I just wish I could have the cold start sound all the time.

Fwiw, I deleted the secondary cats and resonators from my X3MC via the Eisenmann mid pipe, and the volume difference was immense...

No drone whatsoever. I've gotten a lot of complements from people on the road. If I could pick on it, I would say there is slight rasp in the midrange under heavy throttle. Not bad like the S55, but not buttery smooth like the B58. Overall, I would highly recommend this setup until I see an equal length option come out.

There is a company that claims their midpipe is equal length but they are asking $1900 for it LOL. https://valvetronic.com/collections/...m4-g8x-midpipe Last edited by ///MeraldCity_G82; 05-04-2021 at 08:46 PM.. |

As strange as it may seem, I have a feeling the rasp is related to the OEM muffler more than the mid pipe. The valve operation is somewhat bizarre, and unless you are at WOT before 4-4.5k RPM, the system seems to keep valves partially closed in that range (perhaps for a performance reason?). I think this is the cause of the slight rasp. It's possible the M3/4 have a revised design / software, as us X3M guys have had trouble with the OEM valve operation (rattles).
