Agreed that the S58 has been out on the X3/4Ms for a bit, but they're produced in small quantities, and still relatively new. I doubt dealer techs have done major engine work at this point (though I believe there was a con rod issue on the S58 in the X3/4Ms in the past)

Wonder if this affects already delivered cars? Recall incoming?
My car was built during the month of July, but there's no open recall as of yet.

I hope everyone realized the extent of the work if they are truly opening the engines up and not simply replacing them. There is just so much to go wrong, and I can promise you, they do not have experience doing this scale of work on the S58, dealer techs almost never get this deep into an engine. Typically when its main bearing failure, its engine R&R.

I looked up my VIN on the UK BMW recall page and sure enough it shows the open recall now. US page does not yet.
This has me really bummed out. |

our car (G82) was finished production and was awaiting carrier on 9/9. this says that end production date for this issue is 9/7. did we get lucky?
