Looks of the car aside that is the strangest press release I think I've ever read for a performance car. They start with emissions/fuel economy numbers and then you have you to read through literally 30 paragraphs before you get to the power plant, horsepower numbers etc. Odd…

This will be a nice collector car but that's quite a price point.

What did the US do to piss off these German manufacturers? Only 50, none in the US, and a ridiculous price. Guess there will be 50 museum pieces coming.

Would really rather see 50 M allocations of the normal M3/M4…but that's a whole other scab.

Those weight numbers refer to the OG CSL... this one is much closer to the G82 M4 CSL apparently which is odd given all the extra CF.

Thats the weight of the original 3.0 CSL. The weight of the 2023 3.0 CSL is the same 1625kg of the M4 CSL. 2.9kg per HP.

I dont think there is a reason to start saying if it worths it or not. If you are a collector , it makes sense.

I just hoped it was more unique , i personally expected more about this car. When i saw the 3.0 CSL Hommage at BMW Welt , i liked it ! This ? I ll get the M4 CSL anyday , even if i had the money , i would pass it.

I remember when the M2 CS debuted everyone was arguing that it is overpriced etc.

They charged 600k for a Manual transmission on an M4 CSL.

6MT is the best thing about this after the SMG in the 46CSL and the DCT in the 92GTS.
That's progress in a retro way - bravo BMW.

Impressive weight reduction as well.

It looks like a badly modified aftermarket hot rod,
I think it doesn't look any better than M4 CSL.
Being one of the most exclusive and iconic limited product of the company and that ridiculous price tag, it's just not that special inside out in fact it's pretty much a disappointment.

And btw 1625 kg ain't that CSL to me.

Where did you get that? I read 2.9 kilograms per hp, which would mean 1625 kg at 560 hp.

Looks good. But it just feels slightly off, almost as if it's an aftermarket body kit instead of a refined build that cost $700k.

Very cool car BMW. Would have liked to see a naturally aspirated high revving motor but I see you were going for good emissions lmao.

This car totally missed the mark. Who is it for? Certainly not 99.9% of enthusiasts. Even if I was the intended customer for this car…I can think of better ways to spend that kind of money.

Collectors, that's who. And they'll buy them without doubt. And resell for much more in 20 years

I'm curious about the engine tuning and how they were able to get 560hp(up from 473 in manual g8x cars) while still keeping within the same proposed torque limit of the bmw manual box of 406lb ft.

They fixed the grill and the fake side vent! Why didn't they do this for the G8x?

And now I'll put on my flamesuit 😅

I'm sure they beefed up the trans/clutch for this application. (Or the trans could actually handle that power all along and they just wanted to differentiate the power between manual pure cars and the comp models)
