Well, I think I just had a similar issue on the g87 M2, got a low oil pressure warning and the engine didn't idle well anymore. Waiting to hear back from the service, but looks like possible pump failure and an engine too.

Aren't you saying in that thread that something hit the oil cooler under the car?

Yes, that photo is very blurry but the square in the middle looks, to me, like dripping oil.

My money is on impact damage. That's some terrible luck if so.

Thought your issue was low oil from an oil cooler puncture, no?

8 years of living with the S55 and I had zero issues with the engine. I expect that the S58 will be even more reliable. Any lingering fears for me were put to rest after I watched this:

Yes that is correct, at the time I made the post the issue was not clear until I checked the cooler. The issue is due to a 5mm hole caused by some debri

While it is relieving to hear we don't have a trend on pump issues, condolences for your situation. Hopefully it gets worked out by dealer/insurance without too much stress.

That is tragic. One wonders if any of the cooler skid plate options would have prevented.

I think the mishimoto skid plate for large rocks + a finer $20 4x8 mesh from amazon behind it would have prevented this issue. I'll definitely be going this route.
