Yes the shifts are slower and less dramatic but the car drives like an absolute dream without it.
Not sure what causes it to hamper the power so much when it's installed but it'll be staying off for the time being.
Same experience i had. Different tuner. Its very possible its tuning strategy related though. Atleast thats what xhp keeps telling me

Seems so much is undefined, we are and will be the beta testers lol. We should start a poll

One of the things I’m frustrated with the xhp but may be more a function of the car’s setup for trans safety. Is it does not make auto d3 shift faster while driving and you hit full throttle. No where near as fast as manual mode.

They need to do some testing on xDrive cars and release an xDrive specific map for sure.

In other news I noticed this on the xHP blog, it's basically an expanded explanation of the torque reduction setting. The description within the app leaves out this seemingly important bit of info:

"Reducing the amount of torque pulled during a shift puts more load on your clutches and stretches the shift-time a bit, so just minimizing all values won't do the trick. Users are advised to use this function with care. It's not dangerous to play around with it, just to feel the effects, but you have to be aware that lowering torque reduction substantially (e.g. -25%) over extended periods will increase load on the clutches and will reduce their lifetime."

From the blog:

Quote:
This function lets you setup how much torque reduction the gearbox is requesting from the engine during upshifts. Just like with a manual, where the driver presses the clutch while releasing the throttle, the automatic transmission sends a request to your vehicles engine to lower torque while it's shifting from one gear to another. Lowering the amount of torque reduction can reduce turbo lag after shifts, especially in the lower gears. The opposite, raising the torque reduction, can produce faster/crisper shifts. The main purpose of this function is to fine tune your shifts to your current engine setup, as every aftermarket component or tune slighty alters the behavior of the engine during shifts. Tuned cars with big turbos may need general less reduction, than ones with stock turbos. If you experience a bit of "lag" on a certain shift, you can also try to lower the torque intervention by a few % until it starts to smooth out. Reducing the amount of torque pulled during a shift puts more load on your clutches and stretches the shift-time a bit, so just minimizing all values won't do the trick. Users are advised to use this function with care. It's not dangerous to play around with it, just to feel the effects, but you have to be aware that lowering torque reduction substantially (e.g. -25%) over extended periods will increase load on the clutches and will reduce their lifetime.

Hey guys, I have the XHP tune and installed last week. Right to stage 3 lol I have not adjusted the torque settings or put on pressure clamp/drag mode. Car driving normal its smooth. When you lay into the throttle it for sure has a quick shifts that lunge you forward. The "bang" is not as bad as I thought it would be reading all these posts (xdrive). Version 1.2. I have Racechip GTS black, single, midpipe and intakes. Highly recommend for people debating, big difference in response from trans.

I have not ran any draggy times to see if it reduces power like some said and I don't always drive in M Mode. Using paddles seems to produce more of the lunge and bang then just in D for me on DL3 shift setting. Downshifts when you hit the brake that thing flys through downshifts fast.

So from what I gather is xdrive the only ones who have issue with power/torque loss if you have piggyback tunes like jb4 and racechip?

Anyone with RWD no issues even on launch control with engine tune?

Also which single do you guys recommend that also works well with bimmercode?

It’s all tuner/tune related regarding how abrupt the XHP stage 3 is effected. Just finished working with two top tuners with our 2022 M3 Drive. First tuner didn't tune for having xhp flash tcu flash and the other was aware and adjusted for it. OMG, night and day difference! Correctly tuning can make the xhp beautiful driving even on stage 3 with your dme torque limits unlocked.

Paul Johnson has tuning to accommodate xHP. Once I get downpipes installed I will be retuning with him for xHP and stage 2 simultaneously.

You'll want to mention that you are running xHP along with current mods.

I am currently running his stage 1 E60 on my x3m and it's a monster.

It seems to be a significant improvement over the standard ZF8, from the video I'd say somewhere between the standard M4 and the stage 3 XHP.

Just so far, a really other transmission than the oem version.

- Really more pressure on sport mode
- behalf of that the car feels so much more aggressive - unbelievable
- We want to do some dragy runs to verrify faster shifts / but feels a bit like they're faster.

More Feedback to come.
