What a frustrating situation for you!

Amplify needed a letter of guarantee from the dealer. I'm not sure if the letter was delivery by a certain date or on a certain date.

If I were you I'd be communicating with Amplify ASAP to see exactly what they need and then get your dealer to deliver to them ASAP.

Also, FYI, my dealer wouldn't do a bank draft from an outside lender so I was responsible to get the check to the dealer.

Amplify uses USPS and I didn't want to trust my timeline (PCD scheduled 11/15) to the potential delay of a lost check.

I drove to Austin from north of Houston (The Woodlands) and after picking up the check drove to the dealer to close the deal.

Some have told me it is fear of fraud with respect to bank drafts, I don't know.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info. Doesn't look like it's going to work for me. Going to relock at 3.74.

I went with Capital CU up in Fox Valley since I have mortgage through them. Their rates are inline with ECU. Would normally go with UWCU since I bank with them but they started agressively raising their rates higher than other CUs.

Has your car made it on a ship yet or is it stuck at port in Germany?

Sad outcome for you but 3.74 is still much better than other options including BMWFS. Thanks again for pointing me to Amplify.

Thanks. My car is on the Donington and reaching Brunswick tomorrow. Im planning on doing PCD so thats gonna add some time. I had a rate lock with summit credit union for 2.25% that expired and the next best if 2.95% for 36 months with ECU. BMWFS with dealer is 5.5% and I have to do their first before I can refinance. I plan on buying the car when it hits VDC so that way, i have some time before I refinance.

That's marked up a full percentage point. 4.99% for 60 and 5.49% for 72.

This will vary based on the dealer.

I paid cash when I took delivery of my M3 last month and the dealer still insisted on running credit 'to protect the community'. After a lot of back and forth the only thing they were willing to offer was to wait 7-10 days for funds to clear before taking delivery.
Yea that's to verify identity most states it's required, I mean strictly for financing.

Got quoted 6.49% from BMWFS
Thankfully they're okay with outside financing, so I found a CU nearby with rates in the 4s that locks in for 60 days. Now just gotta wait for the car to leave the port soon

4.59% with Tech CU. Best I could find around here. 68 months I think it was? Some odd number in between 60 and 72. I dunno. Good enough for now.

Man they're really jacking up the interest. I guess I waited too long. My '21 X1 that I traded for an M3 is at 2.19% and my wife's Ram 1500 is at 2.29%., both with Navy Federal. I owe way less than before and Navy Federal gave me 7.19%, then I tried Service Credit Union with 6%.

Sounds like your dealer is marking up the rates, 4.99 is the buy rate this month.
