Thanks, yeah the black series is a pretty hardcore track car leaning machine. Function over form is excusable here but whoa that’s a bit of caricature looking thing Bet it will be fast as fark whether it get the big canards or the whale shark mouth. A lot of downforce there and with AMGs monster FI tuning capabilities it spells speed.

6/so years ago we were watching similar marketing videos for F80. They just build the hype. The car won't be too different from previous generation unfortunately. It will have turbo i6, electric steering, sucky sound, and stiff ride. It will be a better car than f80 but it won't be earth shattering.

Everything I've seen says its getting a 4cyl. I'd like to be wrong, but I haven't seen anything saying it's keeping the V8

I've seen two or three state it's keeping the V8 but again, it's all rumors at this point. I would expect it to downsize to either a 6 cylinder or a four cylinder. We won't know until we see it testing.

I guess I am done with BMW. Next car is a 911. The new styling is seriously complete garbage. I'd like to blame it on the fake news but unfortunately, it is as real as death. Terrible. I'll wait to see it in person but my M4 may be the last BMW I ever purchase. And I won't look back no pun intended.

Pretty sure the lack of ED (I was lucky enough to do it in April 2015 on my F80) is my final straw with BMW snubbing the enthusiast.
I think my alternative ride will be a C43 AMG - I am a one car guy in NY and appreciate the AWD. After the F80 I've actually had 2 Audi S4s in manual and DSG, the former stage 1 and the latter stage 2. I always shied away from Mercedes because they offered the most "comfort forward" driving dynamic. . . Now with the 9 speed wet clutch gearbox they actually have the most lively and interesting of the automatic transmissions. . . Who would have thought! A quick tune on the C43 will make a worthy contender, and the AMG performance exhaust makes it sound leaps and bounds better than the F80 right out of the box. Plus the white Designo interior is pure sex. My one gripe is the exterior colors are boring. . . Give me SO any day. |

Maybe they could do the opposite of BMWs Active Sound and instead of piping the engine sound falsely into the cabin they could put speakers outside the car so other people think it sounds good. That is one of the dumbest features on my car. I was driving around thinking, yea, all of these people are looking at me and hearing my cool roaring engine when turns out I was the only one hearing it so it was essentially all in my head.

The things I really like till the end were: front end grip/handling, DCT (I m sure I would like manual as well), and exterior design. I m not excited about the upcoming M3 at all. We know they will use the same approach as with F80. What would make me excited and wanting another M3: engine that is different enough from standard series (like gt3 does for p cars) and properly sounding exhaust, and redesigned interior- I do not want tot to look like a regular car. Red start button is not enough.

For me, I would stay with my M4 for a while and then look for a well-equipped M850i or an M8 two years later. I like the design of the 8 Series.
A 991.2 Carrera T or Carrera GTS is also on the table. M850i in Carbon Black. I love this colour |

if you wait a couple of years, you can get a Supra GRMN with the S58 engine (G8x , X3M, X4M) with a DCT!
A BMW M3-Powered Toyota Supra GRMN Is in the Works, But There's a Catch https://www.topspeed.com/cars/car-ne...-ar188951.html

From that angle the M4 should look quite similar. The 8 is nice looking but would be great looking if it was the size of the 4. As it is the sheer size make it look poorly packaged which ruins any coupe to me.

I've moved to a 3 car household afterall so my Camaro's back seats are no longer needed and my next 3rd car will likely be a Z06 or GT car. If I can make it a 4 car household, maybe I'll welcome the G80's ugly mug back
