The same front end will be shared across both models. The only styling differences that we’ll see in the production cars will be between the base model and the Competition model.

Finally saving on depreciation FTW
I'm very disappointed to say, no desire here to buy the new M3/M4 with this face. Paid up for new on E92, F80 and F87 but those cars had great looks and proportions = mad showroom pull. |

Where did you get that 90% figure from? It might be better to just say something like "I'm willing to bet that the majority of m3 owners don't track their cars." This way you're not using definitive figures without reference, and you don't have to worry about using the inequality sign incorrectly.

There are no definitive statistics for something this specific. But it doesn't take a genius to extrapolate: 1- it's a 4 door sedan with almost as many convenience features as an S class. 2- it's meant for the road first, track second. 3- even those that do track it, most go once or twice a year average. Still not justifying a hideous car. 4- its competitors are the RS4/5, C63, Quadrifoglio. 5- other competitors managed to design beautiful cars while focusing on performance, including BMW (M8). 6- owners that track their cars are commonly enthusiasts, which are most likely forum members. So you can most likely gauge the percentage of owners that track the car just from this forum. 7- if you like the design, that's great. But most on here do not and you need to respect that. If you don't want negative feedback then don't post shit on a PUBLIC forum.

While I really hate the new look, I suspect we'll get used to the big grill. When did Audi move to the big schnoz...2007? I remember hating it initially then somehow owned a 2013 S4.

I think the F80 and F82 are among the most beautiful of cars ever designed.
I've never liked large grills. I've hated the Lexus grill for years. I've hated Toyota grills. Don't care for Audi grills. Yuck. It's an unsightly fashion trend. Like platform shoes for women - how did they ever get popular again? Designers can lose their way. It happened to Jony Ive from Apple - it can certainly happen to BMW. I've not been happy with the growing grills of the X3/5/7, but they grew moderately. So I can live with it (I have an X3 M40i). My initial reaction when seeing this G80/G82 grill is horror and disgust. BMW taking design cues from the cars I hate most? Perhaps the license plate stuck over the middle of the giant grill will mitigate it. Perhaps the official production version will be better. Perhaps I'll grow to like it. |

I think the look will definitely grow on people, like most new BMW's. Also, depending on colour it could actually look really good.

Now add production sized headlights, mirrors, wheels, an ugly hood line and an American front plate... We all know concept BMW's look better than production spec, so an ugly concept makes an uglier production car.
