How'd you manage to get such a low rate?

I believe the max you can be locked in for a rate is 90 or 120 days.

Some people ordered a 2022 and locked the rate way earlier in the year and I've heard BMW has been honoring those. Wish I'd have done that!

I've only heard of BMW holding the MSRP and not the rate but I could be mistaken.

That being said, it doesn't seem like that was in play here.

Your dealer can ask for a waiver to get your initial rate. I had a car delivered 9 months later and the lock was honored.

Yes BMWFS provided that rate. They however did not honor the $750 loyalty credit.

What about dent pro and wheel/tire.

Gap insurance will cover the amount between what your car is worth and what you owe. You will have a bit of a gap for a while, but I find it ridiculous. I believe in insurance that covers large financial losses (health, home, auto), but an insurance product that might cover something like a ~500-$5K financial hit if you total your car during the first couple of years of having it just seems silly to me. But, I am quite comfortable with risk, personally, and if you aren't, then go ahead and get it. That part doesn't usually cost all that much (because it doesn't really cover all that much), but I think many people say it's cheaper to get it from a third party.

I also don't think the wheel and tire coverage makes sense. Look, if they are trying to sell it to you, it's because they make a lot of money on it.

I would keep the $3500 and accept the small risks. And I don't like keeping track of various warranties and insurance products and remembering to try to use them if/when necessary.

I will add a data point to the wheel and tire insurance. I have it on my X3MC and I'm now on my fourth tire in two years. They never patch, only replace the tire. It's more than paid for itself so far and I have no idea why my car keeps picking up nails, but it does and I'm very happy I went with the insurance this time.

Anyone seeing any discounts yet aside from BMW incentives? With rates continuing to go up discounts must be around the corner.

Yea, they've been posted in the banned from G8X forum F8X thread...starting to happen slowly. I think it will get to critical mass and then the flood gates will open.

I believe there will be discount available probably by the summer. That is if the supply chain starts to loosen up. Unfortunately this recession is going to be a bad one. We will need it, as the economy is going to need demand destruction so we can reset. I am experiencing this in the real estate market. We are already having demand destruction, due to the massively rising interest rates. This will start to spill over to other parts of the economy. As peoples equity in their properties start to recede (which has already started) people will feel less rich and start holding back on their purchases.

Its beginning to have the feeling of 2008/09 again.

I agree.

However, I think it will be sooner rather than later. BMW leases are nonexistent due to MF and zero lease support. Monthly payments on purchases are going through the roof as rates continue to go up. Powell said rates are going to have to go higher than he initially though and we're already at 3.75-4.

I appreciate your insight, btw. Cheers!

I couldn't find the thread you were referring to in the F8X forum, unless I misinterpreted the location.
