I have to say, it's pretty nice.

It's definitely a nicer put around town tone and when you get on it it barks super loud.

Very dual character.

Until the mperf exhaust comes out or we get valve control I'll be leaving it as it is.
What’s this?

Refer to my above post (#217) and/or this thread. The valves never appear to fully open and, yes, are only briefly opened.

It is a two-man operation . . . but should only take 30 min, or so. Actually, less time but, like most things, the first attempt goes a little slower.

A few of us tried this and yes they do close to quick. You either have to have someone help you and rev the piss out of the car while you unplug the harness which I don't recommend or just do what most of us have and remove the assembly and wire the flap open.

Does this mid pipe basically just removes the primary resonator?

Pretty obvious that "loud" is purely a personal opinion. My '06 and '13 C6s with B&B Bullets were, by any measurement, "loud." The '18 with OEM NPP and valves permanently open, were nowhere near as 'loud,' but still sounded great. There is no way a BMW M3/4 will 'ever' be near that--even if it was straight piped from the cats all the way back. It would be 'louder,' but also very coarse sounding, I would imagine. With the valves wired fully open, as AVM has noted in the "howtos" we both posted, the exhaust isn't anywhere near 'loud' to me, but much improved. Removing the muffler would be my choice--letting the resonators tune the note, as B&B does for the Vettes. Relying on the ECU to control the valves will never get the most from the exhaust--midpipes or anything else in front of the valve control notwithstanding. Whatever you remove will still flow through the choke point of the valves which are never allowed to be fully opened by the ECU except for a second or two. Improvement? Sure. Max benefit? Not happening. But, as I said, "loud" is in the ear of the listener.

Here's a little more detailed video from Valvetronics website. Sounds pretty good with virtually no rasp. Still pretty expensive though but free shipping they say for the Fourth holiday.

I heard that too.. however, seems like they delayed their initial release so hopefully they took care some of the quality control issues with this specific midpipe before release.

I love the sound of single midpipe, so I did fork over $1800 for this.. I'll post some vids when I finally get it.
