In previous posts, OP mentioned that he will not be moving forward with this vehicle and has not cancelled it as he was not able to drive to the dealership. So i was curious.

If i was in a similar state, i would stop posting in every other thread about the delays and also not track the vehicle.

Remember the "dealership fkery on allocation" seems like you beat that dead horse and deleted your post. Unless a moderator ask me to stop posting I have just a right as anyone else to post. If you don't want to see a particular poster use the ignore feature. Same goes for VJ.

I did. I was on a boat within a week for Charleston. However I spent a month in QC

I think I'm probably one of the oldest production cars at the port right now.
I ordered 8/27/21, week 45/21 production, held hostage in quality control until March when it switched to waiting on carrier assignment and finally got to port on 5/20…. not sure how I haven't lost my mind.

What's the average a car waits to get on a ship?
Not sure where is my arrival port but my dealer is in Memphis, TN.

Wow! If I hadn’t gone through a similar nightmare last year with my M440 I’d have trouble wondering why you stuck it out! You win the prize for keeping hope alive!! I have no real answers to your questions, just speculation based on following my own progress and that of others. I think the majority of cars find their way into a ship within a month, but as you’ve experienced, everyone is different! Your port isn’t NY, or Baltimore, could be SC or Florida? Your CA or a genius would be able to tell you. NightWriter and Vj could answer as well, they seem to know what’s what. I hope you get your car soon and when you do it’s all you hoped/paid for!! Hope is a beautiful thing and the BMW spirits owe you for being loyal, patient, or stubborn as all hell!! Keep hope alive!

Most people are seeing anywhere between 2-4 weeks to board the ship. I think vehicle might go through Brunswick, GA.

I've been at port since March 26th - TWO MONTHS and counting! I have no open recalls and neither my CA nor Genius have any additional information.

This wouldn't bother me so much if I didn't already spend 120 days in QC

There is a misconception that "At the port" means you're actually at the place where the ships are. Mine said the same crap but vehicle was in Krefeld. Your CA should be able to see this info. I hope you get on a ship soon!

I am guessing that your vehicle was moved alongside mine on Friday the 27th. Are you coming to east coast?

Probably because most of them are, at least normally. I'm guessing that with stop sales/parts shortages and shipping delays recently, things are moving slower than usual at B'Haven, and so BMW sends some cars to secondary lots / distribution centers to help ease congestion. It would be interesting to see some actual numbers to help us assess, but I'm sure their first preference (easier/faster/cheaper) is to send the cars by train straight to B'Haven and get them shipped ASAP.

Bremerhaven can store up to 95k vehicles, about 5.5% of its annual 1.7m volume. I played a bit with the numbers, and found that the breaking point is approximately a 17-day delay at the port. Meaning, as long as port operators can clear out vehicles in 16 days or fewer, on average, they can likely reach that 1.7m annual volume. But any longer than that threatens to hamper overall throughput. Of course, short-term spikes and capacity issues may force additional pain points.

Not quite! You’re waiting for the train to take you to the port so you can wait some more there! But you’re close!
