I’ve had my M3 for just over 2 months now, I have not come across this ability (having the rea world map on the screen). Is this possible in the M3? (It appears to be a different model in this picture)
*Picture is from a post on page one For what it’s worth, I wasn’t a fan of the screen upon release either, but after getting it it doesn’t bother me much. Its function is great, aesthetics are acceptable. Only thing that irks me is looking at it through the windshield and seeing how bad it looks from the back, but luckily I don’t have to look at it like that often Last edited by HawkeyeG80; 03-04-2023 at 10:38 AM.. |

I don’t think it’s impossible, it’s definitely more like how much is it worth to you? You’d have to buy all the dash components and a wiring harness, then spend all the time removing and retrofitting. Seems like a fool’s errand to me.

Wow, another dead thread brought back to life 😂 If you really hate the new screen so much buy a ‘23 M4 or a ‘22 M3. They have the older screen setup.

Apologies for not using the search! Thanks for the answers...wish the factory had a dash "option".

That's the future of BMW; it will adapt to all models eventually, something we all need to get used to in the future.

It won’t. Slap on seems to be the MO these days with all of the manufacturers. Saw a new Ford Mustang and it has a screen that looks identical to the M4 screen, but with a gap in the middle. Everyone is just jumping on the Tesla bandwagon, unfortunately.

Yes! That’s actually the car to which I was referring. But it seems that there is a big black gap between the two sides of the screen even though it’s one piece. The M4 screen is lit up all the way across.

Edit: I personally believe BMW is headed in the right direction for styling, they just need to refine the way the screen sits on/in the dash.

I'm just looking at replacing my existing 330 Touring with the M3 version - that interior and that screen just killed any chance of going with the new BMW. It looks awful - nothing like the sportiness the car should portray. I'm now looking for alternatives. The RS4 Avant is better but still has a tablet glued to the middle of the dash which looks almost as bad. Maybe finding a nice Alpina B3 is the solution...
