I posted this in the wrong thread..

So two things are different from my F92..
When the electric e-brake is on, you can just tap the gas pedal and it will release and you can go.

I like to start up in Sport Plus, in the M8 I had to press the start button without stepping on the brake pedal, then step on the pedal, turn on Sport Plus, then start the car. In the G82, I can just double press M2 as soon as I get in and then start the car.

I learned the G80 takes a long time to get to operational temp. My ride to work in my F80 M3 would get to operational temp half way to work. My 911 S would warm up 1/3rd the way.

My G80 seems to take 75% the way to work to get to operational temp. I live in socal so its not THAT cold out. Seems a little odd but whatever.

I haven't experienced that. My car warms up in less than five mins. I'm in miami, but it's still not hot

My drive is 10 mins long. So Im close to your 5 minutes before it warms up. It just bugs me I cant give it some gas to pass the crazy morning drivers going to work. Its not a big deal. But I sure seem to think this one takes longer than my others.

Can you remote start so she warms up before you get in?

At least in my head my G82 warm up is about the same as my prior F90

I totally could. I just shared my random thought about it. Its not really a problem that needs remedy. But if I feel the need, I sure will remote start.

Do you go into sport mode right away? The F80 warmed up faster in comfort.

5min really isn't long for a car to warm up. It is also not enough, most cars take 10mins+ for the sump to reach 80°C.
And yes, in comfort, the car will warm up quicker. In sport and sport+, the engine cools faster.

I have a stash of BMW cargo nets, and the first one I tried fit just fine. Coulda been from an E39, an E83, an E90 -- who knows. That's the beauty of cargo nets -- they're kinda like horseshoes and hand granades.

Simple solution to your commuting dilemma: take the 30-minute route, and you'll have 25 minutes of "gas to pass" time. Then again, you'll have an extra 20 minutes of crazy morning drivers to contend with.

I used to work in North Hollywood and sometimes I used to take Mulholland Drive home. It added 20 minutes to my commute, but it was worth it!

Wow, so transmission in D, use de paddles and it upshifts automatically at redline, nice.

In the M5 once you use the paddles in D it bounces off the rev limiter, annoying cause you have the S mode if you want that

Laser Lights

Finally got a night drive in the G82 early today.

I live in north Queensland Australia and the worst thing up here is the crazy Kangaroos which jump out and cross the roads and wipe out so many cars each year.

These laser lights are so much better than the lights I had on the F82 and G01. We get the Europe spec cars and what I read here is the US version are dimmed down for some local rules reason.

Excellent lights!

Very cool. I bet they would help illuminate all the deer found all over the northeast US, who may not get as vertical as the 'roos but are dumb as a rock and often run right into traffic. At least most of them are short... Our northern neighbors must contend with moose whose legs get clipped and then deposit their girthy torsos through the windshields. Always need to be on the lookout during mating season.

Sounds like we need to move to New Zealand. Nothing but the odd stray sheep there!

I discovered that mXdrive in 4wd sport was a lot more rear biased than I expected.
A lot.

Feels almost RWD to me the few times I have tried it out and intentionally tried to cause oversteer.
Very happy and impressed so far.

Yes 4WD Sport is like 80% rear, 20% front. Drives really nice.

It's pretty much full time RWD until you need it.

I can hear the blow off valve sound on lift off.

Hope this is real and not from speakers
