Besides the OBD reader that you used what other tools are available to put the brakes in service mode? New vehicles now have all these electronic things. On my e36s working on anything is very straightforward. Thanks!
I’ve used Axis Ultimates, EBC Reds and Yellows.

I would say DFC is quite close to EBC Reds.
They have slightly less bite than stock when cold, but after some heat, they are comparable to stock.

Just adding to my initial review and impressions….

I’ve had about 5K miles.
My impression of these pads remains the same as my initial post.
Good value for the money, 70% or so reduction in dust, and zero noise.
I would not drive these pads on track, even for casual open track days. But I’ve done multiple canyon runs and these pads have performed as expected.

Hope this helps!

Got 6000 miles on my dfc pads. Super happy, reduced dust and great performance. Definitely can recommend these pads. Plenty of wot , roll races, 60-130 runs and brakes work phenomenal.

I'm looking at the 5000's as well for my wifes RS3. The factory pads turn the black wheels into a shade of bronze after a few drives. I did the isweep 1500s on my X3M but that was like one of the ONLY options a few years back. Pricey in my opinion.

I know this is old but worth mentioning, these pads are $84 lol, compared to the $300-600 you'd normally pay for similar or less performance for your car. I'd say if they stop the car at all and dust less, is a win win.

And frankly, if bimmerworld sells them (they do), they can't be garbage.

HOWEVER, if you expect these to be up to OEM BMW braking - don't. Just don't. It will brake as well as your mom's Camry. Which is just fine on the street.

🤣🤣 quite honestly I’m more concerned with the dust. I don’t think anything has a lower friction coefficient than isweeps1500, which is what I currently have. Not happy at all.

Give them a try. Friction coefficient and dust are not always directly related. The kind of pad (ceramic, semi metallic, sintered, etc.) has some effect too.

The worst dusting pad ever (hawk blue) wasn’t always the hardest braking pad.

Im giving SBD a shot after repeating with the owner directly. But at the price of DFC, I can’t say no. I have a feeling they’ll be like the old powerstops.

Please don’t. There’s a review on here that’s crap. All my sbd buddies from the GTR world had a lot of bad stories.

You’d be better off with the DFC’s

Sbd didn’t make those anyway. They got someone else to do it.
