Tuning 6MT options

Hi! Just got a 6MT brand new considering on tuning it in the future. Would it be safe to run BM3 ots 93 stage 2? Or should I be more conservative on the stock clutch ? It’s a lease so I will roughly have it for the next 3 years for 30k miles. Thank you!

A vote for MHD unless you already have BM. MHD is expected to release their no lift shift feature this month for the S58. I use it on my S55. Keeping your foot planted while snapping off an upshift adds pure drama, even with a modest tune.

Post your VIN so we know not to buy your car off lease.

A stage 2 tune assumes downpipes and would put you somewhere close to 600 whp which will require a new clutch very quickly and probably close to $4k installed. Unless you really baby it.

You could do a CS flash or a piggyback tune for less power and probably wouldn’t need a clutch upgrade at least for a while.

Oh that’s pretty cool. I might as wait and do stage 1 mhd. I don’t want my clutch to leave the chat.

I thought cs tune wasn’t available for manual

I ran Paul’s custom E85 tune on my F80 MT6 so I don’t think the OTS Stage 2 would come anywhere near enough torque to give the stock clutch a problem on a G8x.

I would pick BM3 for the phone app features and selections it gives, pick the Stage 2 map and turn off/down burbles, and go let ‘er rip!

No lift shift you say. Hope that my transmission and ptb clutch are good enough to take the abuse.

Yes, I was told it will be ready sometime in April.

My F80 has ~75 track days and 50k total miles. So far, zero issues but my car is only 475 hp. Consider the trans and clutch consumables with your power levels.

The S58 is a more laggy vs the S55, so it will really help to stay on boost as you row through gears instead of bogging.

Check out the vid of NLS at Watkins. It is a perfect track for NLS because all of the upshifts are after corner exits. It would be way too dicey brap one off with any steering angle. You roll racing guys will love it.

action starts at about 1 min 35 sec

I love NLS... guessing doing the CDV delete would be recommended?

I still have my CDV.

I could be incorrect, but I think the CDV delete shines for quick 1st --> 2nd gear shifts. I only NLS 3rd --> 4th --> 5th because there is less chance of wheel spin.
