Brand new M4 Comp X Drive and brakes squeal like crazy. Agree it is embarrassing pulling up to lights and stop signs and making such awful sounds. I'm trying to decide between the SBD and ISweep 1500's with ISweep being much more expensive. I'm thinking about trying the SBD first since Mike speaks so highly about them.

Did anyone else get the BMW Drivers survey recently? They were specifically asking about break noise and dust and whether I would choose different wheels or brake systems (similar to Porsche's low dust system). While I don't love the dust or squeak, I do love the performance. What's frustrating is it doesn't seem like it's an either or since many aftermarket breaks offer equal or better breaking along with less dust and noise.

I emailed BMW Customer Service and this was the reply I got:

Thanks so much for reaching out and sharing your experience with your 2026 BMW M4 Competition xDrive Coupe brakes. I can understand how upsetting it must be to deal with those squeaks and the brake dust, especially on a car you’re so proud of and expect nothing but the best from.

BMW’s brake systems are built to deliver powerful, precise stopping; something really important for a car like the M4. It’s not uncommon to hear some noise during the break-in period, and usually, that quiets down once the pads settle in. Things like how you drive, where you live, and weather can also affect this.

Brake dust is definitely a common concern, and I get why it’s frustrating to have to clean your wheels so often. To give you a bit more insight, BMW USA has some helpful videos about brake dust, brake break-in, and other brake topics here: https://www.youtube.com/user/BMWUSA/search?query=brakes.

For the best, personalized advice, I’d suggest reaching out to the Service Manager at your local authorized BMW service center. They’ll be able to take a closer look at your car and talk through any warranty options or other solutions that might help.

I’ve made sure your feedback is noted and passed along to the right people. Thanks again for bringing this to our attention, Brett. It really helps us do better.

If you have any other questions or need anything else, just let me know!

Should you need to contact Customer Relations and Services again, you can reach us at 1-800-831-1117 Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. ET and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. ET.

So basically they'll do nothing, service manager will also do nothing or suggest to trade it in for an m340i.
