Something different… This style that was a custom request. I like it so we’re going to add it to the collection.

Also notable, we did the customer’s business logo as the center cap – something I do pretty frequently actually. My favorite ever was someone who did a picture of their Corgi as the cap – so if you want something personal (cap or lip engraving, etc.), don’t hold back.

The big thing here for me personally is the finish configuration. It’s so clean and understated that you almost don’t realize how good it is until you find yourself starting at it for the third time. It screams ‘coming to one of John’s cars soon’, LOL.

Hyper black is the prevailing name for that type of finish but it should really be called 'mirrored gunmetal' imho. It's a beautiful finish but there's nothing black about it. It's a tinted version of hyper silver, so it's a really metallic, reflective gunmetal.

Sent these to the customer this morning so figured why not do this one today (I do these very out of order admittedly)…

Tried to find some that show it decently. Hyper black is tough to photograph admittedly (it tends to look a little lighter in pics, especially cell phone pics given the small sensor). It's a lighter color though. Well maybe not 'light' but definitely not black either. A few examples:

Another Millie in Brushed Champagne (satin this time). Brushed Champagne has been one of my most popular finishes in the Alfa Romeo market for years. Not surprising that it’s starting to get more traction in BMW as more examples get out there.

You really need to see these in person to appreciate the depth. They look deep in the video but that doesn’t fully capture it IMHO

Hey John, I'm leaning towards Celestial Gold, but trying to understand if this is the correct video, or just a case of different lighting ?

OMG, I'm mortified My apologies. I posted the wrong video. I know exactly what that is.

Those videos are taken by a girl who works there to do this. She's very nice. She's been there like 9 months maybe. When I was there a month ago I kind of coached her to take not only the normal inspection videos (of which I sometimes take a small clip from to post) but also more of a beauty roll video I can post. That's why the videos are now a little slower, more dynamic, show the concavity from different angles, etc. She does a good job.

That said, that was taken on her phone and had some filter on it. If you think people use filters in the US, spend some time on Douyin. I made her redo it because that one was so bad. This is the correct video of Ronin's wheels (below). They are next to each other in my camera roll and I stupidly posted the wrong one without really looking at what I posted. Thank you for pointing it out and apologies that you spent time comparing them, etc.

The correct video of his wheels:

Here's anther video of them actually. He was showing me the concavity and fitment. I hope he doesn't mind me posting but you can see the color is nothing like the weird tone in the video from my original post (and this is in his garage which wouldn't be as intensely lit as the inspection area where the videos are taken, so they do look a little darker here).

Again, really sorry for the confusion.

It is a good opportunity though to point out, as you did, that lighting plays a huge role in how brushed wheels look (in those videos but also in the real world, on your car, etc.).

The area where the videos are taken have rows of fluorescent lights about 6-7 feet off the ground (that area is for inspecting the wheels), and sometimes the videos I get have a different number of the lights on, so the finishes can look a little different. Within a normal range of different though. True to reality in a sense. It is brushed after all, so you will see a range of different shades on your car in real life depending on conditions.

I think about this all the time actually. Posting those videos so close up and well lit is tricky because of how the environment can change the look. That's why I've started getting more sunlight pics/videos when I think the inspection area isn't doing something justice. I think it's overall beneficial though so people can see and get a feel for the finishes.

Again, though, sorry for my error in posting that one. That was something else entirely.

EDIT - I changed the video in the original post to the correct one. Sorry again for the confusion.

Thanks for clearing that up! I’m color blind so I have no confidence in my ability to interpret colors properly, it’s why I had to break out photoshop lol

Vera, this time in brushed double gunmetal gloss. This is going to be a sinister looking setup.

These should be mounted relatively soon so keep an eye out for that.

Bonus Vera Content!

Here’s the brushed titanium set that was delivered a couple weeks ago. I think these are being mounted this weekend. The wheel looks too pretty in the sun not to share.

20x10 Weight – Exactly as estimated at 22.9lbs

20x11 Weight – Exactly as estimated at 23.35 lbs

Look at this thing in the sun though…

when you post wheel specs, would you kindly include weight of each spec'd wheel?

Charlotte and Anika are great looking wheels, but no weight is specified.
