I have no rattles. The exhaust comes in multiple pieces. We spent 10 minutes with everything barely hand tight adjusting all the segments for maximum gap between the exhaust and heat shields and all.
Had a buddy of mine take some video for me.

This sounds better than any midpipe I have heard so far. My only concern is that there are some strong bends in the design which might or might not impact the exhaust flow. I wonder if they have a negative impact on the performance.

Ok we did it and it worked! I decided to try to fit them before brace so we cut out two clamps and welded in resonators instead. Clamps were there for ease of shipping anyway, so now I just have 2 less clamps and longer section. Photo attached. It could go after clamps but then it would require extended clearance brace.
99% of this annoying 2k rpm rattle/rasp when driving is gone. Valves closed there is no rattle at all anymore, valves open there is a tiny spot when it goes through revs before 2k when you can faintly hear it, but it is so quiet that it can be ignored. Sound is much cleaner now, without any odd harmonics. Weirdly I think it is a bit more louder now at around 2k RPM, it gained some of the dooo-dooo tone that single midpipe had, but I was also driving with back seats down, putting them up should muffle it a bit. It is also a bit lower tone now. At WOT it is same as it was before, but without any added rattle. I had an opportunity to test cold start only once, car was outside at +2deg C for 2 hours so I assume full cold start cycle. It is loud, very loud, but it does not sound like the car is broken and muffler is going to explode now. Very big difference in volume between valves closed and open. I think I will be installing valve controller next, probably SST and run 50% or 75% open all the time. 100% open might be too loud for me but who knows. Also got an opportunity to take a short clip of revs, pardon dirty car, it is impossible to keep it clean with the weather that we are having. It sounds a bit raspy on video but I'd say there is none in real life. I will try to make better video but not sure when I will be able too View post on imgur.com |

AhsanU See my post above, I think it worked for me, but at the same time I can not say that I am certain that it will work for catless setup. I got the rattles/rasp sorted out, but I also feel like it is on the edge. If you are feeling adventurous I think you might try cutting off clamps like I did and fitting longer Vibrant 1795 in there. 1795 might even fit after clamps but can be tight. You will most probably need an extended brace as well, but it might work for you.

I'll give it a shot simply because I really want to hear what this thing will sound like with a single turbo and it might actually be cheaper than paying a shop to swap into the OEM downpipe haha. The downpipe on the single turbo kit I have are completely catless, so I'll have this issue again when that kit is installed, so I may as well try to resolve it now. I really don't want to buy another brace so I'll give the 1794's a shot and see how it plays out with the catless dp. I just need to find a reputable muffler shop near me now

Thanks a lot Shaninnik and very nice try !
That's exactly what I thought I'd be doing on my future G87 with the vibrant 1794 (shorter version) or 1795. Based on all the recent videos, that's really the tone I'm looking for. Your midpide is in 2.75" or 3" ? |

2.75” piping. Vibrants are 3” and they just closed gaps with welds. I should also mention that I was able to leave “resonators” that came with midpipe intact, because we cut off clamped sections before them, so technically it is double resonated: 1794 going right into their “resonator”, however I think that whatever crap they put, it is not doing anything, it looks like just slightly wider pipe with perforated core and no packing.

Midpipe going on today along with Gloss Black CSL Grille, Air Ducts and M Performance Front Lip. It was time for a “refresh” as I’ve had the car almost 2 years. I’ll post some sound clips when I get a chance in the next couple days. Stock everything with a Dahler Controller.
Edit: What is everyone doing with their old pipes? I wasn’t sure if I should pick it up and keep it or what. Last edited by Th3DarkSide; 01-20-2025 at 07:20 AM.. |

Lol - don't even go there. I've hidden the purchase of a CSL from the GF/partner (I've got a large separate garage - she only goes there to look for me). Funny thing, is that she opened the mailed title when it came in.. "what is this?" I duped her into thinking it was for the original 2023 M4 that I had. I know - it's a tough life being able to buy a CSL. Life is easier keeping her out of all the low-down, etc.
