Ambient lighting not working
I took my car to BMW for a rattling noise, and I think they might have disconnected the ambient lighting cable when removing some panels. Now the lighting works on the passenger side but not the driver’s side or under/above the dashboard. The cable is plugged into the fuse box, but I’m wondering if this could be a simple fix I can do myself. Does anyone know where the cable might be disconnected, or if it’s easy to access without removing too many panels?

I’ve done retrofit ambient lighting to my f15 before so I can tell you there’s no easy fix. Check the footwell light of drivers side. If it’s lit then it could be the plug is loose in the door card or the module that lights the led optical strip is bad. The only way to diagnose and fix this is to open the door card. I would take it back to your dealer since it stopped working after you got the car back from them. It is not something you’d want to mess with yourself.

Thanks, I ended up taking it to the dealership and they fixed it. It was disconnected somewhere. Your probably right about the location, it took them 30 minutes to fix
