Hi everyone, I bought a BMW G80 with a manual transmission and honestly I'm already tired of it I want an automatic transmission and my friends who have a G82 offer me a gearbox swap.

Has anyone had experience with swapping a manual transmission for an automatic on a G80/G82 ? Tell me more details please

Easier to swap cars with your friend, no one has done that yet.
You would also need to swap the ecu and the tcu, most likely all the harness for both too.

In theory, we've got it all calculated and it's easy given that we have coders

In theory you wouldn't need to code anything if you swapped all the electronics and harnesses, who knows if the bcm will talk to the new ecu, lot of unknowns, but since you have all he donor parts it's obviously possible.

Is his auto xdrive? If so, that would be a sick build with 6MT xdrive. Although I think you guys have a huge challenge ahead of yourselves to pull the swap off.

We have a car with a manual transmission for $60,000-$70,000.

And on the automatic transmission, it's at least $75,000.

And it is almost unreal to sell a manual transmission car in Russia, considering that my car was beaten up at auction
